  It really did drag on because they are splitting it up into three movies, which I think they could've done without.

  bananabread: The director of the movie said that all of the special effects and animation used in the movie(s) was so extreme that it was virtually impossible to fit into one movie.

  Loved it! Can't wait for Desolation of Smaug! You can kinda tell by my user that I LOVE the LOTR and Hobbit series! Although I thought that Tauriel was completely and utterly unnecessary, anyone share my thoughts?
