0100 hours, Echelon Briefing Room, Location Anonymous
Currently, everything or nothing was on the table- and I sure as hell didn't plan on taking nothing. I melted into the cold, hard leather seats that symbolized the grips of reality so closely. For the first time in years, I was the only one in the briefing room. For what I couldn't say, but I knew it'd be that much harder; harder than the reality of this world. I wouldn't be a team player; I could just be codename Seven; The real Seven.
A holographic map sprung to life in the dim room, showing a blueprint of the World. Captain Harvey Newman approached out of nowhere, and sat at the oblong cherry wood table. Samantha Griswold strutted in with Nathaniel Barmann and Heinrich Kenton. They took their head seats, Facing me.
"We've got pinpoints on a politically motivated death squad of highly trained ex-black ops-men, with a possible access to WMD." Capt. Newman said.
"WMD... meaning Weapons of Mass Destruction?" I asked, looking up from the polished table.
"Exactly my case. But that's not all we need to worry about. They have close ties with Venetian Militants- trained in guerrilla warfare with the mentality mobsters."
I look him in the eyes. "Black Ops-men with possible accessibility to WMDs that are shipped by the Venetians?"
"Precisely. Which is why we need you. There is a small arms trade going on in Nice, France that we need to recon. No alarms need to be raised- You are an army in your own standards."
I looked at Sam, Heinrich, and Nate, who looked angry in a sense. "I see. When is this deal going on?"
Sam spoke up. "0300 hours. You need to hurry, before the militants strike up a world war. We have hostage situation, and you need to treat it like one. One guard alerted means the hostage is killed."
I looked at her, and then to Nathaniel. "Be ready. Heinrich has updated your equipment for a three-way communication system. You need as much info as possible."
I nodded and stood, looking at the three. I had known them so long, and yet we didn't. Echelon was very secretive, not many agents even knew what their host even looked like. I was different. I always had been.
