In Tears.
I wake up in tears, trembling.
They cover my pillow and I feel like swimming.
Somewhere so far away.
My arms are freezing, they've gone numb.
I reach for you, but then I feel dumb.
Your asleep across the sea.
This is when I feel myself breaking.
And I try to hear the breaths your taking.
Because it always worked before.
But at this time of night, monsters are lurking.
My head is too full and my stomach is churning.
The hope of sleep is lost.
I try to count lambs, but they are all laughing.
At the sad little boy who just wants to be happy,
But is his own worst enemy.
So then I scream into my soaking pillow,
and wish like hell to heal. I will, oh.
Just you wait and see.
And when I do, I won't be missing.
Your arms or how I felt when kissing
those lips that swore such lies.
The night will go on, if ever so slowly.
And I will ignore those tales that she told me.
However long ago.
The world can be such a beautiful place,
And I will not put this day to waste.
For it is mine to seize. -
