The rose pedals start to fall,
like a rain storm gone wrong
to the beating of a rhythm
that says it's all but hopeless.
They fall down into you
but you can't bring yourself to accept them
so they continue to land
and fall away unaccepted.
The world keeps turning,
my heart keeps churning
the pedals keep falling
my love keeps pouring
like a clock that keeps on ticking
just waiting for someone to calm it down
as it sends out time
like a raging river that's red.
The destruction is imminent
the legs that support me carved from another
as it all continues to pour out
it grows heavier and heavier.
So when these poor legs finally snap
and let me fall to a crash
remember I'm still ticking
waiting for someone to come and see
now and forever I'll be waiting to be free. -
