im writing a book called A Ruby's Love its a spy book and its about a spy looking for the Red Ruby(he falls in love during the mission thats why my book it called A Ruby's Love) and the ruby is legendary....im wondering what power the ruby would have -
it should lead to a great treasure, with its curses and supernatural thing like in Indiana Jones Movies or movies that has to do with relics

maybe the ruby's power should be able to either give you powers, change you into whatever you want to turn into ( like a wolf ) make your wishes come true 50 times, XD a magic ruby

@mitchy ya know....not bad...not bad at all...this is what i got so far with my first chapter...
For many years, I have done my best to save the world on behave of my Father, Miguel Cortez, and of my Mother, Alexandria Cortez. Never have I, nor will I forget the last words of my father; Son, no matter how big a problem may be, you can still overcome it if you so choose to. But, if you run from it, the problem will overcome you. I took his words to heart and never have a lost a battle. I am Carmen Cortez...Secret Agent. My father and mother were Spanish spies themselves, and as their son. It is up to me to follow in their footsteps, and become legend. And I will get that chance, on this silent, dark, yet faithful night...sailing throughout the foggy night, nothing to be seen but the light showing from the small sailboat, I was on deck looking out to see if I could find anything unusual. No luck. The sailors on that boat knew about me...of course I have tried my best to keep a low profile, although...I was sure to trust them since they are workers of a good friend of mine. But even so, you can never put your trust in anyone...especially if you are a spy. There was a man on that boat...never knew him, nor heard of him...but he knew a lot about legends. Every night he would tell a story...but little did everyone know that I myself was looking for a legendary gem. Now you are probably wondering Why a gem? or Why is it legendary? well if youd like, I shall tell you about the Red Ruby. -
What about somthing like in The Mummy films?

To leave readers curious, don't tell them about the ruby, you can just start with the story, you know like *thinking of way to explain* like telling a story. eg titanic Rose is old and retelling the story of titanic you can do that -
