Long gone are the days of gentle thought,
Long are they gone once so present,
Thoughts so pleasant,
Dreams so vivid.
Long gone are the nights of serenity;
Awake in the oil of night,
The smiling face in the glow of moon,
The waltz of the fireflies.
Long gone are the days our August evenings,
A fiery canvas above,
A new drifting breeze,
Dreams over the roof tops.
Long gone are the days that were before.
The longing forever here.
