Copper Sun - Mini Essay #3 - Challenge
In my opinion, indentured servants had it worse than slaves. Their indenture was normally four to seven years, but those who they worked for found every little thing to extend their contract. Most were given little to no rest. When they were, they were given nothing but the floor. They were given just enough food so as not to starve to death, and many believed they were treated no better then smelly dogs.
Slaves, however, had many benefits. They were well-fed, didn't have to worry about finding employment, and often times even got to sleep in a warm bed in their master's room. It is true they were taken from their homes, but as Polly said: "Living in the colonies had to be better then living like a savage in the jungle. They should be grateful." -
that sound about right..i wouldnt change it..but i could see this going the wrong way..maybe?

It's sounds great, you have good points, but I don't agree with those statements. I think slaves had it worse. At least indentured students get to CHOOSE whether or not they work (before they agree to work) and the indentured servants got to know that they would be let go.

Bringing this back up 'cause I wanna remember Longview Dx
Right, the reason I choose indentured servants having it worse is because it was the exact opposite of my viewpoint. That's why it was titled "challenge" >:D
