Well...
I really, really admire your poetry. ike I told you, I used to write, but I haven't written poetry for more than 5 years.
Thanks for inspiring me to write again...it's not nearly as good as yours, but keep in mind it's my first.
Anyone's feedback is appreciated :) -
MEMORY
What was once life:
A pleasant, light feeling,
Filling my heart and soul
A memory takes its place:
Harsh and cruel,
The ending memory.
A moment in time
Reminding me of all I once had
Lost, forgotten.
Life has turned into memory
Dreams are taking place,
Life is visited in my dreams.
The cruel momory
Hold a piece of me
I struggle, push it back
Farther and farther back
Hiding it in the depth of thought
Seperating me from myself.
I am drifting, drifting
Farther apart from reality,
Emptiness replaces heart.
I am no longer me:
She has taken over.
She is now me: a living lie.
I am thought
Pushed aside in my mind,
Lost, forgotten.
I am slowly changing
Into her:
The stranger.
Save me from myself,
Turn the tables
Save my memory.
Feels too late,
Tables were turned:
Against me.
I am memory,
Pushed aside,
While she goes on. -
