Part of chap. 5:
“Whatchya cookin’, Keaton?†Ziggy asked as if food were the only thing that mattered right now.
Sleine suggested that we get some food before we take off. I would’ve suggested that , But I was a little too preoccupied with the who ‘Surviving on our own after three years in a comfortable home’ logic.
It has basically caught us all off guard. I guess that proves we’ve become soft and way too comfortable in the past years.
“It’s slightly charred chipmunk.†He said, Just so me and Ziggy could hear. We smiled grimly.
The girls (Obviously not including me) were playing Tic Tac Toe in the dirt.
The morning light shone against the tall trees of South Dakota. I did a 360 to make sure we were clear and all set and not about to die. Like we’re ever not about to die.
“It’s pretty strange.†Sleine muttered. Radcliff didn’t say a word and looked at Sleine.
“It’s pretty strange they didn’t come after us.†Radcliff finished quietly. “They must be smart.â€
Sleine looked at him in shock, Something unusual for her. “How’d you know?!?!†She asked.
“Uh.. Sleine- Think something NOW!†Sleine was about to object, but she didn’t. She looked up to the sky. She thought a bit. Then she got her ‘Ingenious’ thought into her head. Sleine nodded and started her twist of an Idea in her head.
“Razor are totally creepin’ me out, Taxine.†Radcliff muttered as soon as she thought it. She looked surprised, Again. We were all silent for the rest of the meal. -
Alana needz to read thiz!!!

Prolouge:
Have you ever lived through something so terrifying and yet so astounding that it feels like you live in a movie?
I live something straight out of a movie everyday. It all started like this:
Avalanche-- My brother in the pack held my hands through the bars of my cage. I smiled. The rest of the pack was sleeping silently. Keaton was the only one awake.
Footsteps echoed down the room. I snapped my hand back into my cage. I furrowed my brow. This better be good.
Judd turners unlocked my cage. He then unlocked Keaton’s. And Avalanche’s. I was speechless. Sort of. I’m not usually completely speechless.
“Wha- ?†I asked in shocked.
“Sshh!†He corrected sternly. Judd let us go. He unlocked our Pack.
Judd had showed us how to survive, Who would mistrust him? Avalanche did. He HUGELY mistrusted him.
After 1 ½ years, Judd went away. Razor had been created after he left, BECAUSE he saved us. They hunted us.
Avalanche left to destroy the institute. Ever since, I never saw him. So I only have my true pack left. The ones that will never leave me. We have never seen Judd either. But the Institutes still running. And the nightmare has just begun. Let the madness begin. -
“Whatchya cookin’, Keaton?†Ziggy asked as if food were the only thing that mattered right now.
Sleine suggested that we get some food before we take off. I would’ve suggested that , But I was a little too preoccupied with the who ‘Surviving on our own after three years in a comfortable home’ logic.

“Razor are totally creepin’ me out, Taxine.†Radcliff muttered as soon as she thought it. She looked surprised, Again. We were all silent for the rest of the meal.
Leap was first to whip open his wings. His wingspan - 15 feet across, Sand/rust with black speckles. Then Keaton’s, 15 ½ feet, Dark Gray and a deep black, flecks of brown at the tips. Krystal and Sleine’s - light brown big splotches of amber and gray (Krystal has the Amber). A tad o f rust.
My own, Pale peach, outer rim is brown, small sand strips. Radcliff’s is like mine. His is more rust and peach, with white flecks, same brown outside, same length - 13 feet.
Zig’s were last to open up. His white wings, the outer sides were gray and ivory, He was a boy---- with angel wings.
The pack shot up in the distance with me leading. The pack had it’s own formation, Me in front, Keaton and Radcliff, then Sleine in Krystal And Leap and Zig. In a ‘V’ formation. Like geese.
I was going to speak, But a Razor slashed at my face. Actually, A swarm of Razors were in front of me. Warm, salty blood dripped off my face.
“Perfect!†Leap muttered, Ziggy nodded at him. There wad a BOOM and a huge white flash. They had blown up at least 12 Razors. I was so going to punish them. Later.
The volume was way intense in the Razors earpiece. I could hear static and a mans exhausted instructions. The Razor nodded. He slashed at me again. I was able to dodge, but Krystal wasn’t so lucky. Her shirt was ripped in the back. She whimpered, but hit him with a swift kick to the neck. That’s my girl.
Ziggy hit one in the nose with a dropkick, The Razor only bled a little, and slammed Leap into him. I kicked the skinny Razor in the tailbone with a roundhouse. He dropped like a brick. I smiled wickedly. That was pretty awesome.
“Kick ‘em in the tailbone, Guys.†Keaton hollered when he saw me. Sleine tried it, only for the Razor to pop her in the sucker. Radcliffe twisted ones arm. Their shoulder popped. Boy, that was some distance that thing fell. I kicked the tall, hairy one in-between the wings. He spiraled out of control as his muscles contracted and he fell onto the Razor wrestling with Radcliff. The two fell at least 45 feet down, and hit about six branches. I stared at them. Someone kicked me in the back. When I turned around, He slugged me in the nose.
Sleine kicked Razor in the kidney. He coughed up blood and fell. Leap kneed him in the ribs so hard, there was a loud ‘CRACK!’
“Taxine doesn’t matter, Torn! Get Radcliff.†The Razor that hit me… He seemed familiar. Torn flew from me to Radcliff. He kicked ‘Raddy’ in the temple, then slugged him in the nose, and elbowed him in the neck.
Leap, Keaton, Sleine, Krystal and I couldn’t reach Raddy. I HATE RAZORS! When we got rid of the rest of ‘em, Radcliff and Torn were already too far away. He smiled a distorted, twisted smiled. His eyes twinkled in the sun. The reason he seemed so familiar--- He used to be in the pack. -
whoa. that's good.
-
(I think this is where I left off)
Chapter 6
I whipped open my wings, flew hard and far until I reached a lake. There was a small, long stream the was connected to the lake. A deep red Cardinal perched on a branch. Of course, I didn't bother to pull my wings in. The middle of a city in New York is where you pull your wings in.
I banked, it was actually quite peaceful here. And quiet. Even if on the inside I was boiling up with unexplainable rage. Pure rage.
Torn! Psh. He's a Razor now. He infiltrated my thoughts. If anyone touched me, I'd rip off their limbs in a nanosecond. The world just kind of stopped right there. All was quiet, except the stream and the buzzing humming birds, and the Northern Flickers pecking the trees.
I remembered when Torn was Avalanche. He had taught me how to snap everything else into perspective, How to hotwire cars……………………….. How to write. What did you think I was going to say? How to kiss? Yeah, Right. Let me describe Avalanche anyway.
Amber eyes, Cream hair, And always one to wear a dress beater. Did I think he was cute? No. Did I want to marry him. No. Was he like my brother. Maybe. I cried for a long time. I cried until I couldn't cry anymore. He was a brother. Almost complete family. Those wicked scientist's had him mutated into a Razor. He's able to morph into a HYENA.
(CHAPTER 7)
The Pack stalked around. One of the older boys flew above, Scanning for Taxine. All the others were chatting wryly. One kept staring. He seemed blind. Since the Pack was more protective at night, Plus the fact that Taxine was gone, It would be a horrible mistake if the Razors were to flank them. The blind one's senses would be on high alert. Even with the quiet one searching up high, there was still a hole in there security.
The small girl shifted nervously in her bed of pine-needles. Then, The quiet one who was searching, gave up. He sat down, slumped against a tree. While the rest of the Pack slept, He stared endlessly into the orange and yellow flames of the fire.
"Tax…" He muttered, almost so quietly, the Device didn't pick it up. His muscles stayed tense, even as he fell, slowly asleep. He didn't even move. Every once in a while, a pack member would twitch or roll over, their bodies casting log shaped shadows on a dark ground.
Little did they know, The enemy was among them. Blonde boy was actually dreaming of fighting. He kept kicking the blind boy in the back. Sometimes he'd throw heavy punches, And flutter his wings slightly.,
It was actually Kind of cute.
Two miles away, Taxine had fallen asleep near the tree base. She was packed like a sardine in between her wings. A few times she'd tense up or grimace, and sometimes she'd clench her teeth and give some sort of a snarl.
Taxine woke up, shooting forward, taking deep, heavy breaths. Obviously, she was trying to calm down. A message had been sent to her in the dream. Taxine knew she couldn't get to the pack this time of night, she'd have to wait until morning to spread word of the message.
The night went slowly for her. She didn't quite know why this nightmare seemed so important. Maybe because it involved white-coats, cells, and Razors. Lots and lots of razors.
Razors. The word was said shallowly in Tax's mind. Her face a mixture of bitterness and grief. Her expression turned softer as she thought of Radcliff. She thought he was funny and nice, even being a schizo and all.
"I miss that small, Crooked grin." Taxine said, and then she frowned.
Sleep. I have to sleep. She thought., But she couldn't seem to be comfortable, everything seemed louder, the darkness darker, The wind to bitter. She'd have to wait until morning. To long for anything good to happen.
Morning came quickly. Keaton sighed and looked at the vast forest ahead.
"Nothin!" called Leap. Sleine then came up to Keaton with sad eyes, and a frown. "Nu-Uh…." She said.
"Nope!!!!" Cried Krystal. No one hade seen Zig all morning, And still no sign of Taxine. Leap was totally flipping bored out of his mind without Zig and Tax. And Keaton wasn't even the same guy, so Leap couldn't pull a prank on him. He sighed.
Keaton hugged Krystal, Who was crying silently. "It'd going to be okay, He'll come back. If not, we'll find him."
"How do you know we'll find him!?! He could be dead for all I know!!!!!" She erupted, pulling away from Keaton. He realized that 'If Not' Wasn't the best approach.
Leap looked at Keaton. It was a 'Nice going, Dummy.' Look. He grabbed Krystal and hugged her.
"Me and Keaton are going to find Zig and we are going to find Tax." Leap said reassuringly. "-because we love her and, we need her." And because she's going to fix-up Keaton and make him prankable again! He added in his mind.
"Yeah, we're gonna look…" Keaton said unsurely. Sleine smiled at that and pointed west. Leap and K knew where to go. After all, Sleine knew where to go, But it usually fails her mind flight, so no one brought her along. She was supposed to stay with Krystal to keep praying for the best.
Even if the worst was sure to happen. -
Post no show.
(CHAPTER FIVE)
"Whatchya cookin', Keaton?" Ziggy asked as if food were the only thing that mattered right now. Sleine suggested that we get some food before we take off. I would've suggested that, But I was a little too preoccupied with the who 'Surviving on our own after three years in a comfortable home' logic.

(CHAPTER 8)
“Zir is now being processed. He’s the creation that’s going to train 409210. One of the toughest yet.†A male whitecoat said.
“Progress?†asked Mr. Delminson, the head of the operation.
“Stats – St: 91, Ht: 6’1, Wt: 210, M.r time: 30 seconds, Ovr: 89.†He put out information like he was built to do that exact thing.
“Interesting, Good job, Doctor. Very nice.†Delminson stalked out of the room. Passing Delminson, some of the strongest Razors came out. The whitecoat ordered them to place the empty crate into the storage room, where the other crates were.
Torn crawled out of a vent, into the other room. “Think they can replace me?†He sighed. Maybe it’s just for the greater good… He thought.
Another whitecoat snapped her fingers. When Torn turned around, she pointed to Radcliff, Who was whimpering in the corner. He sighed and lifted Raddy up. Then the whitecoat nodded. Se opened the crate, and Torn put Radcliff inside. The crate could barely hold a Lab comfortably, let alone a Skinny, Five foot something, with wings.
Whitecoats designed endlessly, trying to perfect Zir.
“That last batch was full of flaws, with their own personal issues. Zir is better, Minimal flaws, Robot smarts…†A whitecoat muttered.
“You’ve had more failed experiments than I can count on one hand! How do expect anything to be good this time?†Veich said bitterly.
“But Zir is better! Lead/Iron fusion bones, I.Q- 117!†A whitecoat explained. Veich left the room, Giving no hints he was upset or disappointed. The Whitecoat smiled, and started writing the stat sheet for Radcliff’s crate, Almost like the end of a hospital beds stats. Torn thought it was sick and twisted, but then again, he himself was twisted.
The razor knew the things Radcliff would have to go through. Testing was brutal, depressing, sickening, tireing, and wrong. And yet, someone had to do it at least everyday. Usually only the people in crates got tested on, but if there was a certain someone the Whitecoats had their eyes on, They’d go through training for weeks, instead of days.
Torn knew it! He actually felt a little sorry for Radcliff. Poor guy would be sliced and diced.
The Whitecoats would laugh at that. He thought.
Radcliff gulped. Torn turned around. Poor guy. Poor, poor guy. Their brains are programmed to have the Razors do their dirty work.
The schizophrenic whimpered. His eyes were frightened. His pupils wide, he was pale and clammy.
Torn walked out of the room, Leaving Radcliff to his medium-sized dog crate. Radcliff didn’t even try to struggle out of the crate, He just whimpered in fear and hugged his knees. Keaton He thought, but he was too far away for him to talk to him.
Three hours later, A group of Whitecoats barged into the Crate room. They walked down the rows of Dog-Crates until they reached one labeled ‘409210’.
The female Whitecoat nodded and said some things Radcliff didn’t understand. Some Razors came out and ripped open the Crate and pushed a gurney in to the room.
The gurney had straps, which of course, Radcliff hated more than the Institute itself.
“NOOO!†He whined.
“Shut him up!†Said the Whitecoat. Torn thought Radcliff was going to breakdown. A different Razor kicked him in the neck, Strapped him to the gurney, and carried him away to be questioned. -
I love the very first paragraph! It informed the reader on so little, but so much at the same time, but still somehow keeping the mystery and suspense present.
Prologue also, equally as great.
Well done Ozze! A little J.K. Rowling in the making.
