Chester morphed into a half phoenix. One of his wings curled around Jayden. ‘I can’t believe you’re not scared now, though. Maeve was scared of me for months, but maybe that was because she was 9.’

Jayd shrugged. "Her and Oliver may have helped."

"Yeah." Jayden chuckled.

Chester chuckled, pulling him closer.

Jayd leaned into his touch, smiling.

Chester’s wings curled around him.

Jayden looked at the wing before leaning into Chester more.

Chester held him close.

Jayd smiled.

Chester grinned.

Jayden kissed his cheek.
