~Lasting~
“Please, don’t leave!” I pleaded on the verge of tears.
“You already ruined everything Hope, why not!” My best friend, Noah, half yelled.
“I-I need someone like you just please, Noah, please don’t leave.” I said tears streaming down my face as he walked away into the distance. I thought “how did I mess up this bad? How could I lose my best friend? How did this even start?”
Chapter 1
Will this love ever last?
“I’m not racing you!” I said for what felt like the 10th time in the past second.
“Oh come on please,” Noah begged.
“Oh my gosh, fine! If it’ll shut you up.” I said annoyed. We got into our stances and, at the speed of light, took off.
We raced a few more times until we were both out of breath. We lay on the grass panting. "Thanks Hope" Noah said smiling.
"Your welcome" I replied sitting up and retrieving my phone out of my pocket.
"Wanna go again? Loser buys the Winner something from the shop" Noah suggests.
"You’re on" I reply clicking the Clock app on my phone. Again we got into our stances and counted down. 3…2…1. We shot forward. I pushed ahead, running as fast as I could , panting I made it past the finish line first when I turned around and saw Noah talking to another girl! He was free to do that but for some reason it made me feel… anger? He walked over, a frown on his face. “Hey! What was that all about? What’s wrong,” I said a hint of hurt in my voice I covered with concern.
“I went up to her to say I liked her shirt and she said ‘stop looking at my shirt creep!’” Noah said on the verge of tears. I put my arm around him gave him a hug and told him to sit down, then my body filled with anger, I ran to the girl and said.
“Hey! What the hell is your problem!”
“Um, what do you mean?” She asked taking out her AirPod.
“Um, I mean yelling at my best friend to not look at your shirt and calling him a creep! You have no right to make assumptions like that. He literally just said he liked your shirt that doesn’t make him a creep!”
“Ugh, stop defending him it’s creepy that he would just go up to a random person and say that. You don’t have to go all ‘I’m his girlfriend’ like leave me alone.” The girl said as she put her AirPod back in and while I walked away to Noah who was now walking towards me I heard her say under her breath “What a creep.” Naturally, I charged at her and was about to rip her skin off her body when Noah came from behind me and grabbed me.
“Hope! Calm down. Okay, she’s just another person.” I breathed in deep calming down. That’s when I realized Noah had never been this close to me, it felt… good. Oh god, I can’t like this! He’s my best friend. I started hyperventilating. “Hope? Are you okay. Um, sit down.” Noah said I sat down on the grass, not breathing but still breathing. “Listen to my voice.”
“Okay.” I managed to push out in between my breaths.
“Take a deep breath and count from 10-1. Okay, do you want me to count for you?” I nodded “10…9…8…7…6…5…4…3…2…1,” I had slowed my breathing and escaped from my panic attack. But, my question still stood, will my love for Noah ever last?
Chapter 2
When is it love?
“Dad! I’m leaving!” I yelled grabbing my duffel bag full of overnight essentials and my phone off my desk. I ran to the door and started to open it when I saw something. It was a woman. She was dressed in a white dress and looked almost like an angel. “What the-“ I said under my breath confused.
“Love you Hope! Be safe, tell Noah thanks for picking you up!” I heard my fathers voice echo through the house.
“Love you,” I mumbled as I walked outside. The woman still stood there.
“Remember my dear Hope, you are one in a million. Never let anyone tell you otherwise. You, Hope, you will be mine forever. I shall never leave you.”
“Wait! How do you know my name? Who are you!” I asked, but the woman was already gone. How odd and why was she dressed in white?
“Hope? You good?”
I looked up to see Noah standing next to me with a concerned look on his face.
“I’m fine, come on we’re going to be late.” I said confused and trying to explain what just happened and why that lady was just standing in the middle of the road and how she even knew my name! Noah didn’t take his eyes off me while we got to his car. We got in and I pulled out my phone. I opened photos and started looking at them when I saw a photo of my mom. She was a gorgeous woman and had big blue eyes just like mine. Her hair the same as the lady in the road. The thought dawned on me, what if she was my mom! No it can’t be. She died when I was 10. But what other explanation was there? Some random woman who just guessed my name was Hope? Or was it some of my friends playing a prank on me. I pushed the thoughts out of my mind and looked at Noah.
“Thank you, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to worry you.” I said.
“It’s totally fine! Let’s get going, all our friends are waiting for us.” He said.
We were going to our old school, where Noah’s dad works and gave us the go ahead, to hang out with our friends and sleepover there. I looked over my shoulders to the back of Noah’s Honda Civic. There were two duffel bags, one pastel yellow and one baby blue, they complimented each other perfectly. On the drive to Sage Grove Middle we were silent. I pulled out my phone and started to text my other best friend, Faith Lewis.

“Hope, we’re here.” Noah said. I look up from my phone and, sure enough, I saw my old middle school in all its glory. It looked a bit bigger than I remembered. I smiled.
“What are we waiting for. Let’s go have some fun!”
Chapter 3
Is it a crush or is it a mistake? -
I haven’t started to write chapter 3 yet. Also, Sage is going to be like instagram just like not really you can still post pics and crap but it’s mostly meant for posting life updates. Hope is going to have a blog called “Call the life” and I had a blog generator give me names and the name “call the life” is supposed to be like “Call the Midwife” just replace “Midwife” with “life” and it’s my favorite show so I had to man lol. Ask me any questions and I should be able to answer them
