The main character is Karentina, she's an oc of mine
Prologue
A hundred years may seem like a long time, but in Elven Years it's only 16 years. 100 years ago, I, Karentina Highpurr, was borne to Queen Delphina and King Tarren, the High Elf Monarchs of Arcanland, the place i call home. 100 years ago, invaders came to steal the Azul Crown, which, when placed upon an female elf of the purest High Elf blood, would grant... interesting powers. among the most interesting was The Golden Queen's power, which was foresight. this power led to her finding the Shadow Empress' Lair, where she held the final battle between the two, and where the Golden Queen fell. from then on, the Shadow Empress has been a threat hanging over the whole continent, Magelia. -
These invaders entered the royal chambers, then, upon seeing me, laid their weapons at the feet of my mother and went with the guards peacefully, crying out "The Prophecy! The Child! She shall be The Prophecy's Child!" these cries were references to a scroll found in the Shadow Empress' Lair, which held a prophecy that has been told through generations
[i]Rise, Child of Air
Rise, Child of Fire
Rise, Child of Earth
Rise, Child of Water.
For the Shadow Empress has returned. [/b] -

Everyone believes i am the Child the Prophecy speaks of, after that fateful day. Me, a babe with a halo of light brown hair surrounding her head as she slept, with her bright brown eyes, one pupil ringed with red. The Prophecy's Child...

Chapter 1
"Your will be touring the four elemental Queendoms, so they can all see the princess that shall save their world." My Father says, grinning at me. i groan internally. this is the fourth time this week he's said this, and I leave tonight. "Father, i have a request." i say. "Yes, daughter?" he responds, tilting his head to the side. "would you allow Cecelia, Lyra, and Rhugien to come with me to keep me in check?" i say. i have had a bit of a record when it comes to going to other Queendoms, escaping in the middle of the night and starting food fights. Mother says it comes from Father, when he was still a commoner. -
"Yes! a delightful idea!" Mother exclaims. She beckons to a servant to come closer with her long and nimble hands. "please go tell Ladies Cecelia, Lyra, and Lord Rhugien the change of plans, please." she sends him off. "have you packed, dear?" she addresses me. "no, Mother. not yet. i shall do so now." i drop into a low curtsy before i leave.
-
I arrive at my room to see my three maids, with hair the different colors of the sunset, sitting at the table, playing cards as they waited for my return. "Daisy, could you please pack some bags for me? i can't remember half of the things i'll need." i ask of the purple haired one. She gets up, nodding, and the orange haired and pink haired stand as well, waiting for instructions. "Tulip, could you pack my dresses? and Rose, please, cover for me while i go visit my friends... Arimentisal knows my parents will have a meltdown if they knew i was going to the west wing..." i sigh. "i'm already here, princess." A deep male voice says from the doorway. "Rhugien." i grin, turning to him. his dark, chocolate brown, fluffy hair flops into his icey blue eyes.
-
Rhugien is my best friend, Lyra's brother. My friends try to convince me he likes me, but i find that unlikely. all the girls on the Elven court fawn over him daily, so he has his pick of girls. But that doesn't stop me from secretly liking him. "how'd you know i was going to come see you?" i ask him, smirking slightly. "you do it everyday, princess." he answers, using his nickname for me. i notice he's already in his travel clothes. "that servant must have been fast." i note. "yep. Lyra packed immediately after she heard, and Cecelia... well, she's probably gotten sidetracked again." Rhugien smiles at me and rolls his eyes.
-
"hm. Should i go check on her?" i wonder, heading towards the door. "i think so. we all know how much help she really needs." he says, chuckling. I wave to him as he opens a secret door in my room, heading back to his. As i wander the corridors to the west wing, servants, maids, and butlers all bow to me as i pass, calling out greetings. once i arrive to Cecelia's door, i knock and open it, to see her standing there, looking around in confusion.
-
(shall i continue?)
-
(Oo please do! I'd like to see how it goes)
-
"Hey, Karentina. have you seen my glasses?" Cecelia asks, referring to the maroon colored, wire framed glasses she had gotten a couple days ago. "They're on top of your head, Cici..." i sigh. "oh!" she nods her head fast, letting the glasses fall onto her nose, then pushes them up so they don't slip off. "what would i do without you, Karentina?" Cecelia asks dramatically. "you'd be under the Shadow Empress' control soon if i wasn't who i am." i tease.
-
"true that. wanna help me pack?" Cecelia suggests, and i turn my eyes towards the half covered suitcase sitting on her bed. "sure, you look like you need it..." i say, uncovering it and folding the clothes neatly into it.
when we had finished folding and packing things, I bid farewell to my friend, heading to see Rhugien again. he was only a few doors down, so it wasn't that much of a walk. I knock, and hear a muffled "come in." through the door, and i open it, seeing Rhugien sitting on his bed, cross legged, folding a few pairs of trousers. his room was in perfect condition, not a spot on his marble floor, not one thing out of place on his dresser. I turn back to him to see him stuffing a paper into a pair of socks, but i leave it be. "hey Princess. oh, i have something for you." he says, reaching towards his side table, but he teeters off, landing in a heap on his floor. "you okay?" i ask, quickly walking near him and holding out a hand for him to take. he takes it and stands, then grabs a brown package off the table, handing it to me. -
"oh, thank you." i say, taking the package in my long hands. "are you going to open it?" Rhugien urges after a few moments. "sorry." i say, carefully tearing the paper apart, revealing a forest green cape, and i smile, slipping it on. "thank you Rhugien!" i exclaim. "i saw your old cloak had a tear in it, so i asked the tailor to make you a new one." Rhugien explains, rubbing the back of his neck, his cheeks turning a little red.
-
I smile at him, noticing the warmth of the cloak and the thickness of it. he must have taken the time to design it, which really does make sense, since he does like fashion designing. out of the corner of my eye i see his sketchbooks lined neatly on his bookshelf, so many that they take up a whole shelf already.
