Just pleaseeee

What are those?
-
When the author includes themselves in a book.
The character might have a different name and looks, but the authors often try to make the character just like themselves. If you know what I mean my head hurts rn.
But the character often never has flaws, and is kinda overpowered -
I have my self insert in one of my stories but I am quite literally a joke, the character is lazy and sloppy, they are only there as a roadblock because she makes the characters tired and they can't pass before she gives them an item
-
Honestly that’s the self-insert that actually works
The rest are like- “overpowered, beautiful, amazing, smart, everyone loves them, main character/distracts from main character” -
I sort of do that with some of my characters?
A lot of the times kind of take an attribute I have and exaggerate it in the character.
I most definitely don't make them perfect, and a lot of the times in a situation they do things very different from what I would do if I were in the situation.
So I may be guilty of this, I didn't even know they existed until you explained it just now. -
My characters are all infused with and represent different aspects of me and my personality so in a way they're all kind of self inserts lmao
-
Does a persona count as a self-insert?
-
I have traits of me and traits I want to have in all my characters. Does that count?
