All others do is talk about the eyes of storms when they talk about peace. But almost none talk about the after. After wars you get brought about the tears of families that never got their sons back, and yet at the same time parades of peace, and festivals. Not many talk about the raging calm after events. The anger or sadness boiling inside yet outward calm and peace.
One such Example, say you have a dog and it knocks you off your feet and drags you. Of course you drag it home and fuss at it. Then there's the after. Any anger or sadness from being dragged across murky lawns have been expressed but the feelings of hurt are strong emotions you feel it after. Thus, we have our scene.
Rain sounds trickling from outdoors mixes with the sound of wistles from a red, small teapot. You pour the rich, brown liquid in a mason jar, of which you had previously taken from an bare, white cabinet. Adding any ornamental flavorings to your tea and sitting down. Phone in one hand, tea in other. Despite having your Phone, it's unappealing. You'd already checked it before the incident.
Slowly the pitter-patter of paws comes closer. Then, a head sits on your thigh. Eyes, big and filled with brown coloring matching your tea look up at you. Merely looking down at your normally rambunctious dog, it seemed it was trying to apologize. You set your phone down and place your newly empty hand into soft, fluffy fur. Anger still festers from your gut, but you stave it off. After all the animal didn't deserve cruelty for one wrong-doint.
Thus leaving you sitting. Dim light coming from windows. Dog sitting close, despite your mind being in a tango for it. Everything so calm, mundane, but inwardly just as chaotic as ever. Stalemate.
I hope you re-think what's the most interesting part of a battle or storm. In the end it seems calm as the eye. However, more rages on than first believed. -
