I am going to post the start, a very rough draft, of my new book Paragon.
Rules: no negative comments, but criticism is very much encouraged. -
Magnus Xavier Paragon gazed at the elaborate, intricately detailed glass chessboard in front of him. His opponent, Dr. Aaron Xavier, sported a knowing smile. He had just put Aaron in a very well-made check.
Magnus moved his queen three spaces forward.
"Checkmate." A goofy grin quickly spread across his face. Aaron's jaw dropped to the floor. -
After several moments of examining the board, Aaron finally sighed and put his hand on his head, shaking it slowly back and forth. "I walked right into that one, didn't I?" Aaron said.
"Yep," Magnus said happily. -

I like this so far!

(Thank you Cinna!)
Dr. Aaron Xavier was beyond genius, but Magnus was shaping up to be much more so. Aaron was in his mid-fifties, with grey hair and grey eyes. In contrast, Magnus had platinum blonde hair and gold eyes. They had relatively the same facial structure, both sharp and well-rounded. -
(Magnus at first seems like a Gary Sue, but it is supposed to be kind of different. He is bio- and genetically engineered to be the perfect human being, but as the story goes on, more and more conflicts are showing)
(look up the definition of paragon) -
It sounds interesting so far. If you finished it and published it I would read it!
