Thread Topic: yall i just finished reading my new favorite book
-
its called a boy and his dog at the end of the world.
its about a boy that lives his life with his family at the end of the world and someone steals his dog and he embarks on a long journey that he learns what life is like in the outside world and how gruesome this newly untamed world is.
i dont want to go into full detail about the story because i would be spoiling what happens but trust me the author that made this book really did well but a note for younger readers if you are sensitive to harsh language and/or descriptive blood/gore do not read this book because the imagery in this book is very good and some people i could imagine could not handle it.
Once again the book is called:
A Boy and His Dog at the End of the World
By: C.A. Fletcher -
guess im going to have to read it
-
i finished it this evening and i was so satisfied with it
it was make in like 2019 its a relatively new book so the world depicted is like a few hundred years in the future but its not like crazy like flying cars and everything. when you do read it you'll know what i mean but i hope that you find joy in reading it as i did. it took a couple chapters and then i was hooked. so i hope you enjoy it! -
this is a review on the book and i feel it is very accurate.
One possible future, one dog, and his owner who won't give up.
This is the first CA Fletcher book I have read. It's one of those books I wish I'd owned for years, just so I could re-read it every now and again.
In one possible future, only a few people survive. Very few. One encounter between Griz's family and a stranger, leaves Griz chasing the stranger to retrieve their stolen dog Jess. The story is written through the eyes of a young adult with no knowledge of the world other than what they have read in books, so the wording, or lack of punctuation may put a few off, but I strongly advise you to persevere, and immerse yourself in Griz's world.
There are moments in this excellent book that left me deflated, exhilarated, so sad, and often elated. There are twists ahead which made me feel genuine emotion, so I well not lessen their impact by telling you anything about them.
I honestly believe that this book is my favourite of 2020 to date, and have given it five well earned stars.
CA Fletcher, I doff my cap to you. -
all let you know if i liked it
gonna put it on my christmas list -
