I held out my arm to him, and he rolled up my sleeve. As soon as he saw what I was talking about his mouth dropped open. "H-how, how did this happen?" he said, studying the texture and finite grooves that were in my skin. "I'm assuming I contracting something from one of the many expeditions you sent me on." I said with a sarcastic chuckle. He rolled his eyes slightly, but his face maintained its seriousness. "Have you tried to remove any?" I shuffled a bit uncomfortably. I knew this question was going to pop up, I just wasn't mentally prepared for it. Before I spoke I inhaled deeply to calm my racing heart. "I have...and the results were...not good." My eyes darted over to my other sleeve. "Roll it up and see." I closed my eyes as he started rolling it up. "What the hell?!" He exclaimed, the shock in his voice apparent. "I-" He paused for a moment as I opened my eyes. "I don't think this is curable...or even if it is, how we would inject you with it. Especially with how advanced it is." I looked at him and nodded. As much as I hated to think about it, there was a slim chance that he, and his team could come up with something to cure me in time. He started to pace around the room that we were in, running his fingers through his fiery red hair. "Carissa, I have an idea," He looked at me, but his eyes were dim. "But you may not like it." I blankly stared at him for a moment, then walked toward him woth and grin. "And what is this idea of yours? It can't be as bad as you make it sound." I stated with a light laugh. He looked at me and shook his head. "You don't understand. We have to slow this process down. If we don't, you're going to die." Tears started to form in his eyes as he continued to speak. "The only option we have is to stick you in an cryogenic chamber. One that we can moniter the growths in, while we find you a cure."
