Rainpaw woke to a nudge. "Rainpaw!" A familiar voice growled. A few moments passed before the voice barreled Rainpaw over. "GET UP!" It roared. "Huh!?-- Wh-wha--!?" She immediately leaped to her paws, clawing at the air pathetically. "Oh," She sighed. "It's just you, Shadowleaf..." Slowly, she stretched her long limbs, blinking away her drowsiness. "We're going on the morning patrol, so you need to wake up." He meowed, before he padded away. Wait! The morning patrol!? She realized. Yes! Yes! Yess!! She raced out the entrance to the gorse tunnel, breathing in the scents the morning carried. Hurriedly, she rushed to Shadowleaf as soon as she spotted him. "Finally, you're awake," He snorted. "Follow me. And don't run off!" He added, before leading the way. As she followed, she breathed in the fumes of a mouse scurrying by. "Can we hunt!?" She asked excitedly. "No!" She was about to protest, before he silenced her with a flick of his tail.

He looked her straight in the eyes, fury in his eyes. "When I say no, I mean 'no'." He growled, before he continued to pad forward. Rainpaw followed, with her head hung low. Suddenly, they halted. "What do you smell?" Shadowleaf urged. There was a short pause before she replied with a shimmer in her eyes, "Fox, but it's stale!"
"Very good! Alright. We're gonna go get Emberstorm." He meowed, a look pf delight written on his face.
