Thread Topic: How does your brain react to a book you like?

For me, I start acting, speaking, and thinking like some of the characters. Sometimes even dressing like them. Like, I've never known blood lust until this happened one time.
-
I didn't used to say a lot of the phrases I do now before I read a bunch of books set back in time. Also, alice in Wonderland and parodies of it gave me many new phrases. My most commonly said is "By the by".
-
I just don't want to put it down. EVER. I get chastised about not focusing because I'm reading, and I tend to be sort of careless when I read a book. I'm re-reading the Harry Potter series and it's a lot funnier than I recalled.
-
It's much simpler too.
-
I just read it. I never stop. I pull all nighters.
I get in trouble at school. I don’t care. My brain feels like I’m right next to Eragon, Bilbo, John Segundus, whoever.
I can feel the wind on my face and the saddle under me.
And then, suddenly, about 3 quarters of the way through the book, I snap out of it. I live a normal life again, and the book goes back to just being “pretty great.” -
That's how I am sometimes, but it LINGERS after the book is over.
-
It's called book-hangover. I get it all the time. See, the first thing that I posted fades after a week or two after I'm done with the book.
-
MINE NEVER FADE
Well, the feeling does but the word use doesn't. -
Also, when I start a new book, it goes away, unless there's a character similar to the one that I've been acting like.
-
And then there's when I act like a character in a story that I'm writing.
-
Lets see..I've picked up:
love of floor length skirts (so comfy and I don't have to sit ladylike in them!)
Tea drinking
phrases
Corsets (They are kinda comfortable to me.Well, mine is)
capes (I hate jackets now. All I want are capes)
day dresses (I don't have one but I want one)
interest in being an assassin -
There's too many thing that I've picked up over the years to specify what they are.
I hate skirts, I like tea, I repeat phrases, I didn't know people still wore corsets, but I guess now I know someone who has, I'd like to have a cloak, not a cape, I hate dresses, and I've has an interest in being an assassin at one time. -
I usually hate skirts, but floor length ones are comfy, tea IS amazing, Same, Most don't but I do, I call it a cape to appease people but it is a floor length black cloak, I hate most dresses, Wouldn't it be great to be an assassin??
-
It would if I could.
