(Yes. That was what I was planning, honestly.)
-
I smirked and watched them bow to us. "We really did it, huh?" I laughed at our accomplishment. "I got our first decree", I turned to the people before us. "Peasants! As your new queens, we promise to take care of your needs and wants to the best in our abilities. But we will ask you to do things as well. Not big favors, I assure you, but important favors that will help our Queendom Prosper. Our first Favor is this: There are many who annoy Your queens. We want them dead. If you want to make us happy, you will kill them for us. Happy Queens make for a happy Queendom. What do you say?"
As the crowd cheers, I pull out a stack of papers. On them are the names, addresses, and other contact info of our enemies. I threw them in the air, and smiled as the peasants began to catch and read them. When they begin to run out of the building to do our bidding, I turned my smile to Tatyana. "Once they finish this, we will have a happy life of royalty, no?" -
"Not quite," I said to Ambrosia, "First, we must have all on the Earth listen to it constantly. We can go over to the radio and television stations right now, and make them play it constantly. Going to other countries will be no problem, since we can make them not charge us. Even the birds and wind will sing our music. Not one being or object can resist it. Let us go now to spread the music across our country first. Unfortunately, we will have to depend on this for now." I pointed to the recorder.
-
I nod, knowing she is right. "What if we got is started playing on the local radio stations here since we already have control? Once we get them playing it, we can start broadening our range. Oh! We could go to places like New York and California where a lot of radio/television stations are. Wait, why not just play it over the tornado sirens and leave tv alone, that way they have some entertainment. I mean, between the wind, birds, and sirens we should be fine right? And if we are actually as good as we plan to be, the few who snap out of it briefly wouldn't mind being ruled by us. I plan on being the best queen history has ever seen.Well, one of them."
-
"The tornado sirens are an excellent idea," I say, ignoring her last comment, "But we'd need to make sure that they don't make the music sound like dying birds. That would be awful to listen to constantly. There would be a bit of trouble near the places that don't have sirens, but put more enforcement around there, and we should be fine." Who know what would happen if they didn't? I knew, but didn't say anything else.
-
"I think we can play what we want, if not we can just ask our people to. And we can have them build the sirens." I turn and look around the building. "Where are we going to live? I mean, I don't think there are any royal palaces nearby." I walk to the window and look out at the buildings. "Hmm I suppose we could claim one or two of those rich people mansions", I turn back to Tatyana. "Although I'd rather prefer a cabin in the woods. What do you think? If you don't want to live in the woods, you can live in the mansion, me in the cabin."
-
"I personally like a cabin in the woods much better than a mansion," I say, looking at Ambrosia, a smile growing on my face. I much prefer a cabin than those stuffy mansions full of lavish . . . everything. Give me a challenge, and I will succeed. Have me survive the elements for the rest of my life, I will succeed. Besides, I love nature. I know so much about it.
-
I smiled wide and started walking to the door. "Let's go find us a home then! You wouldn't mind if I started a garden, would you? I love nature..."
-
(hold on, are we inside or outside?)
"Of course I wouldn't mind," I say, "What kind?" -
(I thought we were inside of the building, and about to leave)
I pause at the door and turn toward Tatyana. "I was thinking in the front I could have lots of flowers and vegetation, but in the back we'll have berry bushes, veggies, maybe try growing a fruit tree or two?" I walk out the door and scan the road. "Which way should we go?" I see a person and ask if there are any cabins nearby. She points down the road to the left and says they are about ten miles that way. I thank her and leave her to whatever it was she was doing. "So, should we walk, get a pair of bikes, or steal-sorry-commandeer someones car?" I look around at the town while I wait for Tatyana's answer. -
(ok, fine with me.)
"Food from plants taste much better than they do from the store anyway," I say, "And you could commandeer, and i could ride a bike. I can't live without riding a bike." I spot a bike, and take it. -
(Okii!)
"They really are! And since I happen to love cooking and baking, you are going to love meal times!" I say while laughing. "I'll ride a bike too, since cars are bad for the environment. We should ban vehicles! Personal ones anyway. Only public buses allowed, that way people can still travel distances, but they are not polluting the environment as much. Or, I suppose we could go back to horse back riding and carriages.." I trail off into a train of thought and grab a bike. "Shall we start?" When Tatyana nods, I get on the ike and begin to petal, and she follows. -
I follow her, since she's the one that knows where to go. We don't talk very much, since we're saving our energy for our 10 mile trek. Ambrosia turns left onto a dirt road. We went for a few miles, and then we were back on the road. We stopped, and looked at eachother, confused. After catching our breath, we turn around, and start riding again. This time, I'm looking each direction, to see if we missed a small trail. About halfway through the dirt road, I see a rectangular shadow. I look at it closer, and sure nough, it's our cabin. "There it is!" I say, pointing. We stop our bikes, and lead them up to the cabin.
-
As I walk up to it, I start scanning the yard. I really think this will work, I can make a path here, plant there, maybe a birdbath there...Wait! Does Tatyana like the house? I sneak a glance at her, but can't tell what she thinks. "What do you think? Is it perfect? If not, picture it with all the plants I plan on growing!" I looked at the cabin and smiled. "I know it is small, if you want to live in a different one I'd understand."
-
I laugh at Ambrosia's inconfidence. "Of course it's perfect." I'm still chucking. "There's only the two of us. We don't need a palace to fit two people. I like how it looks, and it will look even better when you start planting."
