Within the small oceanside town of Gravendrift, an ancient prophecy comes to a close. Atop the trail of a small mountain, amidst a field of pink roses, a beast is killed. The orphans of Gravendrift are released from the Shadow Eyed Beast's grip, and, as the weapon of Humanity's Angel lay buried deep into the beast's head, the figure of a lone male stands victorious. His deep violet eyes begin to lose their focus, as the wounds along his arms and torso continue to bleed. His long white hair, which he usually keeps in a ponytail, is now free, unkempt and slightly stained crimson, along with his thin beard. His hair reaches down to his shoulder blades in thick strands, and the breeze flows through it. His clothing, which consists of a navy blue dress shirt, black trousers, brown combat boots and a white cape, is also blood ridden and torn in various areas. His skin is slightly pale, his breathing erratic. A petite and tan golden haired and eyed woman approaches the weary knight, her head nodding in approval. "You've done well, Alistair of The Order. You can rest easy knowing that you have successfully protected the divine three. They will ascend and eradicate any signs of the demonic plague." Just as the woman finshes speaking, two others join them at the top. One is a red haired, cerulean eyed woman dressed in black combat gear, wielding a crossbow. The other is a big man in a green sweatsuit, wielding a massive concrete hammer. His long red hair is as free as can possibly be, with a blodied headband around his forehead. His dark brown eyes scan the scene before them, when his gaze settles on a wounded but still alive Alistair. "Lodrech, Alicia, I thank you for your assistance to our friend here. Without you two, he never would have learned how to be accepting of others." The two in question, who have just arrived, stare at the woman blankly, as confused as they show. Just then, the silhouettes of three children appear behind the woman, and as they fade into existence, they run around the golden haired woman and tackle the bloody warrior to the ground. The youngest one, with black hair and green eyes, is the first to speak. "Big brother Al! Are you okay?" The middle one, with slightly shaggy brown hair and silver eyes, opens up next. "I'm sorry, I couldn't protect anyone, much less myself." The oldest one, with short silver hair and eyes, is the last to speak up. "I guess you really can be cool. Sometimes." Alistair grunts as he moves into a sitting position, then wraps his arms around the trio. "Rosie, Runt, Daniel. I'm just glad that none of you have been harmed." The pair from before come closer, small grins on their faces. "It figures. I now know what my sister sees in you, kid. I give you my blessing." Lodrech says, smiling smugly. The snow haired male jolts upright, a look of pure surprise written on his features. "W-What could you possibly mean by that?! We're just friends..." Alicia's face is red, her fist hovering just above Lodrech's head. "He and I do not need your blessing!" The tiny smile dotting his face only grows as he begins to run away from his angered sister, and Alistair gets to his feet. "Goddess Valentia," He kneels before the golden haired woman, his thoughts once again becoming coherent. "I ask that you watch over the children better than I ever could." Valentia motions for him to stand. "I shall, but why do you ask this of me?" Alistair gazes from the three children to her once again. "I'm afraid I do not have long for this world." His vision loses focus once more, but he stays standing. His bleeding body begins to feel cold, his limbs numbing. "Won't you die an honourable death?" She asks in a joking manner. "Did you forget that your angelic powers can heal you?" Alistair begins to sway on his feet, before eventually falling onto his back. Genuinely surprised, Valentia stands above Alistair's seemingly unconscious body, inspecting him closely. She notices that his breathing is slow, but rhythmic in nature. "You big baby. You'll be fine." He snores abruptly and loudly, causing Runt and Rose to giggle. Valentia huffs and stomps away from them all, moving to the cliff overlooking Gravendrift's huge beach. Alistair's body is nearly healed completely, and he gets to his feet once more. Alicia, having victoriously driven off Lodrech, walks over to Alistair, clasping a small trinket in her hands. The snow haired male notices this and smiles at her. "You kept that old thing? And in good shape, even?" Alicia's face is slightly red again, her mind shifting through old memories. "I've cherished it ever since you gave it to me. You know, you're the only man I've ever actually looked up to. You're so compassionate and strong willed, and you are always willing to protect anyone in need. I suppose I have always admired that about you." Her hands are fiddling with the trinket now, and the snow haired male cannot hide his smile. "Alicia..." A loud slap rings throughout the area. "Ow! What was that for?!" A red hand shaped mark burns on the snow haired male's face. "You're too reckless! You often run headfirst into danger, even nearly getting yourself killed. I'd just appreciate it if you would use your head before endangering yourself." Alistair's eyes lock with Alicia's, and as they close the gap between them, the world seems to fall away. After a brief, but passionate union of lips, they can only stare at each other in silence. That is, however, until reality comes back to them, and they both realize that everyone is staring. Valentia herself is even looking over at them and snickering. Alistair can't even form words. "I-I... um.." Lodrech comes up from behind them and pats them both on the back. The kids are all smiling and giggling, even the hardy Daniel. "We've known for a while how you two feel about each other. And I'm glad that you were the one who my sister fell for. You're my best friend, Al." The snow haired male is put at peace with Lodrech's final remarks, even sighing in relief. "Thanks, Big." With that, the sun begins to set, bringing on the horizon the evening moon. The moon is now a normal white, forgoing the typical crimson shade. "Shall we head back?" Alicia asks Alistair, extending her right hand towards him. "Yes, let's." The scene comes to a close with our protagonists walking back down the mountain trail, hand in hand. "What is a goddess like myself going to do with those knuckleheads?" Valentia asks herself, before eventually following them all, not noticing that the moon is flickering red.
