Prologue:
Dante opened his eyes the feeling of the sheer cold wind on his face and arms. Instinctively, he pulled his hood up and his unrolled his sleeves but stood otherwise motionless. With the bright moon and wispy clouds staring down at him from above, he began walking. Where? He had no clue. About anything, really. He had no memory of his name, his past life, or his family. Just gut feelings. He felt his name was Dante or something like that and that he had...somewhere to get to; to return to. Other than that, his mind was blank.
(Ch.1 shall be posted Monday or Tuesday! This story is a action/mystery that I enjoyed writing and, well, wanted to share.) -

Ch. 1
After about two hours of trekking through forest and across roads, he managed to reach a small town by the time the sunrise emerged on the horizon. He searched his mind for any memory, or trace of one for that matter, of this place. When he came up empty, he noticed something. Something even he knew was off. Although citizens walked the streets, they were all silent as they went about their business in an attempt to keep unoticed by the police. Dante hurried inside a nearby bar in order to do the same as the others, attempting to blend in. Sitting at a small table, he scanned the room for familiar faces until the door opened once more. Glancing at the door, he noticed three police officers saunter in, only to ask a barmaid a simple question.
"Have you seen this man?"
The barmaid nodded and pointed to, of course, Dante. But before he could react in any way, his vision changed and his hearing became fuzzy. He looked around the bar but everyone and everything glowed a bright, neon blue. Asides from the officers, who shone red. The three officers moved to Dante and, without saying a word, attempted to pin him to the table and snap their cuffs to his wrists. Dante tried to fight it until he noticed something startling; their hands seemed to phase through him. Suddenly, his vision changed back to normal as he stood from his seat, but the officers were where they were earlier. In fact, no one in the bar had moved at all from their position before his vision. As if reacting to Dante's movements, the police officers charged him. One managed to pin his torso to the table as another swung at Dante with a left hook, connecting to his jaw with a sickening crunch. Dante reeled back and brought his knee ramming into the officer's stomach that had him pinned, sending him back. Dante stood and landed a blow to the same man, connecting with the back of his skull and knocking him out cold. A sharp pain ripped through Dante's back as the second officer landed a kick to his spine. After stumbling forward, Dante grabbed a chair and smashed it against the officer's face. Panting, Dante turned to see the third officer standing with his aim on Dante, a pistol in his hand. "s---..." Dante froze as the man stared him down, his breathing hard. The next thing Dante knew, the man pulled the trigger. Dante shut his eyes tight and waited to die, but he didnt. In fact, he felt just fine. Slowly, he opened his eyes to find the bullet spinning in place in front of him, not moving closer. He raised his hand to touch but before he could, the bullet flew back to the officer and pierced his chest.
"Wha-"
Dante stared at the officer in horror as he dropped his hand. He looked around the bar at shocked and confused faces to finally stop his gaze on the barmaid. She shuddered and slowly spoke.
"What...what are you?"
He looked down and stayed silent for a minute before quietly answering.
"I...I dont know..." -
