No. That’s not true actually.
The mods are specifically chosen by the sites admin, GoToQuiz guy.
He’s not currently looking for mods, and when he is, it’s a mix of user nominations and his choice.

Other than junior the only perk you get is faster post time.
Mods have a lot of responsibilities
