Am I the only one who doesn't like this idea? How are we supposed to make new accounts? This would mean no more RP or OC accounts, no more GTQ Masquerade and no more fun :(
We can't let the trolls take over and ruin things for us normal folk. This change is only being considered because of them right? -
I am terribly sorry that this directly affects the RP'ing community, but we had no other options. With a severe lack of power to do anything, we were fighting a losing battle. They made 50+ accounts in a single day. We needed to end their exploitation of a broken system.
Believe me, I'm disappointed as well. Many users are aware I own over 200 alternate accounts. I've made most of them myself over the years, and I cherish many of them deeply. But having the upper hand over whoever was posting threats, harming others, etc. was just too important. It's not something we are considering changing. -
The Godfather AdvancedIt's not your decision though. It's GTQ Guy who would implement it. I saw trolls making dozens of accounts a day years ago. This isn't new. The mods are making too many decisions on behalf of everyone. The GTQ community doesn't want this. Let us vote.

Well, GTQ Guy did implement it. We explained the situation to him and he must have agreed, otherwise he wouldn't have made the feature.
My apologies for getting personal, but you aren't the one who has to see the things they say before deletion. You don't use your free time hawk eyeing the forums to ensure there's not another attack about to happen.
Again, I'm sorry, but the decision isn't being changed. -

Considering the fact that you're hiding in a hacked account, I don't hold very much regard for you or your opinion.
We have involved the community in several recent decisions. Most things have been taken to a vote. All you have to do is go through this forum or the Help one to see the community vote threads. There were also discussions held on the Discord. -

Please keep in mind that GoToQuiz is not a democracy. We ask for community input on almost everything we do despite having no actual obligation to do so. In the end we did talk to GTQ Guy about it (you know, that dude who owns this website) and he did obviously agree that this change was necessary.
If a character is important enough that they need their own account you can always put in the work to make a new email account. The safety of our younger users is a greater priority than your personal convenience.
Lastly the fact that you wont show your name leads me to believe that you aren't an active RPer. It seems like you're trying to hide behind the RP community to get extra abilities for your self. I could be wrong but that's the way it comes off. -
Ok? That was quite rude of you to be honest. The reason I'm not in my usual account is for this very reason - because I wanted to state my feelings (and I probably speak for others too) without getting into a disagreement about it with you guys.

All the mods understand why people would have different feelings on the issue. It's a loose loose situation tbh. nobody would get upset with you so long as you remain respectful.

Considering they’re the mods, yes they do have the right to talk like this.
Trust me I’m not happy about this either considering I have made many alts. But if it keeps away trolls and hackers I’m grateful to put this plan in place. -
That's easy to say when you're not the one having multiple accounts made dedicated to posting pictures, names, and locations of children in your family, or when your full name and location aren't the ones being posted over and over again by troll accounts. Honestly, it is disgustingly selfish of you to imply your need to RP in individual accounts is more important than the safety and wellbeing of people on this website. If you are a real RPer and not just some troll hiding behind RP accounts, I pray that you reevaluate your reasoning here, because this is just gross.

There has been a suggestion to allow for multiple names under one account, which is a possible future addition.

I think that could be a wonderful compromise. Hopefully you are able to implement it!
