Thread Topic: I would like to report The Coldest Sun
-
I did tell the person I would be deleting their posts for this reason, so I would imagine that's why.
-
Gom makes offensive jokes all the time and never gets marked, it seems very biased that they are quick to mark newbies
-
^Im not breaking any rules. Like you stated they are jokes, and they usually don't go too far unless I'm pissed. Alsp I get marked a f--- ton don't worry about it :^)
-
Do you all really need to pick fights with us every time we make a decision based on the site? We aren't biased. My posts have been marked before, as well as other older users. If they are doing something wrong, they get their posts marked. That's how it works.
I just woke up, so I have no idea who lost their account, but I can tell some people are getting butt hurt over nothing. If the owner of the account has a problem, they should email GTQ Guy about getting it back. It's not that hard. -
But if the newbies make the same jokes and get marked then they lose their account, it doesn't seem very fair
-
I constantly mark GOM's "kill yourself" posts or other highly offensive jokes so I have no idea why you're complaining about it.
-
Let me get up on my laptop to explain the situation better please
-
Untitled Newbieit's a well known fact that gtq guy doesn't reply to anything (accept for dark).

We do not have the power to straight up delete accounts. I'm setting that down on the table for people that think we have the insane power to delete accounts entirely with one button. It doesn't work that way and we DO NOT want it to.
With the case of this user, though it was only one thread (I'm assuming) that was marked, their lower status and post numbers meant that the account was deleted faster than another account would be deleted. It's a "weight" system. You know how if a junior marks a post, it won't really gray it out, but if a senior does it shows more? Well, it's the same for the deletion system. The lower your level, the faster you're likely to lose your account. It's either their status or low post ratio that got the account deleted. We don't pick on newer users, it's just that they are so likely to lose their accounts if someone happens to mark their post for something. GOM's account still stands because he is a higher level and he's been sneaky enough to say borderline appropriate jokes to not get his post marked. He also has a s---ton of posts so our deletion ratio isn't strong enough. -
Actually, I do not get replies. The one time he responded to my email was on the issue of a site bug, where I had to get data for him to work with it. My constant emails about other problems haven't been addressed, but I'm aware if a user asks for an account to be deleted or to get one back there's a far higher chance he will respond. f---, he doesn't even have to respond. If you make a good case about why your account was unfairly deleted, you might wake up and be able to long into it a few days after sending the email. Idk.

Can mods lower post times?
-
No. We have no way to check peoples' post times, know how much our marking does, or have a way to lower it. Right now we're fighting for the option to unmark posts when we make mistakes or if someone is unjustly marked. Perhaps then issues like this will be resolved.
-
Ah okay.
One more thing, if a someone at a junior level marked a post, say a newbie/novice user's post, would it have any effect on their post time? -
Sorry.
It's possible, but I doubt it. I'm not really sure about that. -
No it doesn't, unless multiple people mark it.
