Thread Topic: We seriously need a few...issues... fixed.

Azimuth NewbieFor one, the thread deletion process needs to be a bit more complicated so that trolls can't take it to their advantage like they have, and the threads that have been deleted other than spam threads need to be put back in place, since GTQ Guy CAN do that, (but he is the ONLY one that can) And we also need that Science forum, because I and probably some others know what threads they would create there, but currently there is no place other than in the lounge to put them, but these threads would get lost in the lounge and be difficult to fish out, especially if they haven't been posted in in a few days. Also it seems to be of concern by many users, myself included, who think that we need more moderators. Also, I found that the search bar does not function properly, but I'm not sure if this is happening only for me or also to others. GTQ Guy, if you see this, this is only a reminder of what has already been said before, but is needed or wanted by users.

Azimuth NewbieBy the Way, this is alex3000.

I agree that the thread deletion process needs to be fixed, absolutely. Innocent people are losing their threads out of nowhere, and if I can remember, somebody was getting upset because they lost their official thread. I think it was you, Alex. Anyways, we need to tweak the system so that moderators exclusively are allowed to delete threads if absolutely necessary, or to lock threads until the creator of said thread wants it unlocked again. I think that would be the most desirable outcome of the thread deletion process.
As for more moderators, I'm 'eh' on that. We already have some active moderators as it is, I know that we have three inactive moderators, but 3 out of 9 isn't that big of a number. Though I'm more neutral on the idea, I could go either way.
And yeah, I've been experiencing some problems with the search bar on the front page as well. When I'm searching for specific users or threads, nothing really shows up, thus me not being able to find what I need to find. -
Oh. Make that 4 out of 9 inactive moderators, being that Bob confirmed that he was inactive as well. That's just about half, or a little less than half of the moderators. But pretty much half because nobody can be 1/2 of a moderator. I suppose we could use some more active moderators.

Azimuth NewbieExactly what I was thinking, and yes it was me.
Some might find it not needed, but for a busy forum like this one, the more mods the better.
Exactly.
Yeah, the Space Engine forum has 6 active moderators and things are fine, but that forum is much slower. I'ts equivalent could be more like that of, say, the Ballroom. Sometimes a lot of posts, sometimes hours before a post is made.
