if there was a button on the thread overview or something to bump a thread without posting threads would be less crowded and nobody could get angry for a person bumping an unwanted thread unknowingly. its not a very good idea and i realize that but it is all i have right now.

I like the old bumping methods. The button could be used as a way to bump thread anonymously which means that some trolls could just bump very old threads and we wouldn't know who was doing that.
