There are a few changes I think should be made.
1. Remove, or diminish, the time limit. Diminishing it could involve simply decreasing the amount of time added, or even penalizing whoever uses it a small amount if they use it too much in a day (it may be a bad idea, but it could discourage someone with a vengeance from abusing it, and encourage cooperation in decisions about whether or not to delete a post)
2. Displaying the names of whoever uses the function. Another form of discouragement.
Good ideas? -
We have a post deletion system? Is this a case where I never noticed before because it's never used, or because it's so effective?

The moderators would be what Appa is referring to, I believe.
I like Appa's idea. Although, what would that look like after a post has been deleted? Would the post not go away then? Would the text just be replaced with the notice as to who clicked the button? -
I like the second, but not the first. If the moderators need to delete spam, it's not fair to them if we're penalized for doing our job.

^And that. Spammers will take advantage of that s--- just to mess up our post times.

It was a possibility, but I guess if a troll spams ridiculously, then my idea wouldn't work well....
I thought maybe after 10 posts. But let's say a troll spams 50 times. 5 moderators would have to delete that for it to work. -
Five moderators aren't consistently active that I know of, let alone at the same time to delete a steady stream of spam posts.

Another idea, what if we all had the same ability to delete posts that the moderators do? I wonder if that would be a clusterf---, or would it actually solve the problem of favoritism and elitism here.
There would also be more power against trolls, instead of having to call out or wait for a moderator. -
I'm going to be completely honest, if I could delete threads and posts, I would start and never stop. It's not a good idea.

Drama? were on there side lets f--- up the other guys wait time
Trolling? lol lets f--- up everyones wait time -
Appa, normal users CAN delete posts.
