I'm a little bit concerned, as while there's the platonic aspect, that is still not an appropriate way to think of a family member. Platonic realtionships ( such as Queer platonic realtionships) are still realtionships, and while not the traditional sense of romance, they're defintley not something you should be in with a family member

It was a fashion ring I game her as a joke. But, no. I did like her like that, but after talking to her about it, it's more like a best friend thing. Idrk how to explain it, but, it's not romantic. -

At any rate, I hope I didn't give anyone the wrong idea. It was really the playful result of a stupid joke we did. -
So, here's the whole story:
I've known my cousin literally since I was born. She and I pretty much grew up together. I trust her so much that she was the first family person I came out to face-to-face. After seeing that even that didn't shock or disgust her, I was relieved, but as a joke, I made it my mission to try to weird her out with my jokes. So the other night, I randomly asked her to be my platonic wife to see if it'd weird her out. So found it funny and dismissed it. When I saw her today, I happened to be wearing these fashion rings, and I pulled one off and gave it to her, and she put it on, laughing. It was our inside joke.
So, yeah, I guess it is a joke, but also, I'm just grateful to have someone around that I can talk to about anything--someone who's always there for me when no one else is. And so, I don't have a romantic bond to anyone, but having someone just to support me like that nulls the pain, and I don't mind it too deeply. -
