Nah, I know some people's license plat numbers. It's just memory.

No, I purposely stalk him to know his license plate number. I know his fav. juice type, sport, and exactly how many awards he's won.

If you are "purposely stalking him," then yeah, it's stalkerish. It depends on the intent. But that word has been overused the last few years.
