Perwinkle1 NewbieSo there's this girl in my dance class. I've had a crush on her for a few months now, which is weird because I've known her for years and don't know why I randomly started liking her. Anyway, I don't know if she's straight or bi (I know she used to have a boyfriend) or if she's interested in me. Sometimes it seems like she's interested (for instance, she used to sit at one end of the room then a few weeks ago she moved to sit next to me, she called me "boo" once (?), I've noticed her looking at me, she'll stand next to me if a bunch of us are having a conversation, when in a group conversation she looks mainly at me, and she laughs at a lot of my lame jokes), but I've also noticed that there are some obvious "not interested" signs (doesn't always laugh at my jokes, half the time she only gives short replies to me in conversations, she doesn't always seem interested/is more interested in others). I don't know what to think. I have a friend who thinks I should ask her out, but I know that if she doesn't like me chances are she'll tell her best friend (who is like a teacher in two of our classes and a classmate in two others), who'll probably tell this other girl in our class, etc etc until the whole class knows I asked her and will stop talking to me (my dance class is extremely clique-ish). Also, I'm 18 and she's 20. She's been in college whereas I'm graduating high school in a few days. Any ideas on what I should do?

Perwinkle1 NewbieExtra note: whenever she stands/sits next to me it is always because she stands/sits next to where I am, even if other spots are available. Usually, I'm already in a conversation when she joins and stands by me.
