So this girl that I've had a crush on has basically told me she's straight. She and one of her friends joke around and act like lesbians, and when I started to noticed she said, "it's just for fun. I honestly can't see myself dating another girl."
Thing is, while she said that, the way she sometimes acts makes it seem like that's not so true, like she might have a crush on ME.
For instance, I've caught her looking at me several times every day in class. Also, it's obvious that she pays attention to me because she knows so much about me even though we're not technically close. And, she laughs at all of my stupid, corny jokes I use (well, used before the conversation where she basically told me that she's straight) as an attempt to subtlety flirt with her.
Most of the people she hangs out with ignore me, especially since she's technically on the inside and I'm very much on the outside of the social spectrum. She pays attention to me and is actually nice to me, though. Grant it, she's nice to everyone, but she acts friendly towards me while everyone else she kinda puts one this overall nice persona.
We share a LOT of interests, like all of her favorite things and my favorite things are the same things. It's great for when you need someone to fangirl with.
Just, if she's straight and everything, why do I catch her looking at me in class? And why is it always so hard for both of us to break away from a conversation? Is it possible that she's slightly confused? I'm very much aware that I could just be reading too far into this. I just want a third person point of view.
