Thread Topic: Question for y'all Apple experts
-
Whoa-ho-ho, got your attention now :P
Anyway please, please, please don't bother answering this unless you know exactly what you're talking about and can give me a very definite answer. Not to be rude but I'm asking because I need to know for sure. For once this is not a "I'm just curious" kind of question.
Okay so here's the deal. And don't judge me peoples because I know at least some of y'all are on GTQ without permission too.
Anyway so my current method of internet access basically is a semi-broken iPhone that my mom only uses occasionally to play podcasts and music and stuff. So I, being me, figured out the passcode and everythingin literally one try. It was that easy, peoples
So this phone that I use (I'm not calling it "my" phone because technically it's not) is connected to all my mom's other devices with iCloud and everything.
And it has "My Photo Stream" enabled but not "iCloud Photo Library."
So basically what that means is if I go into the Photos app, it shows me the last 1,000 pictures my mom has taken on her phone.
(Interestingly enough it doesn't show any of the pictures from my dad's phone though)
Oh and btw my mom is the "owner"/"manager"/whatever you call it, of my family's iCloud account. So my dad's phone is like a family member but my mom's name is on all the devices.
So what I'm wondering is: if I disable "My Photo Stream" from this iPhone, will that guarantee that any photos I take and/or save from websites, and then delete immediately after using them, will NOT show up in my mom's photos?
I know that sounds kind of weird/disturbing but I've been wanting to make quizzes and/or update some of my profile pics, and if I'm going to do that I have to save new photos, but if my mom sees them on her phone then she'll know that I'm on internet, and then I'll lose internet access again
Sorry to make such a big deal out of this but my family dynamics are kind of different than most when it comes to accessing internet.
So if you haven't gotten bored already, can someone help? If any of this didn't make sense I can clarify any confusing parts. I am writing this at nearly 5 am, so I'm not entirely trusting my brain to be coherent.
Thanks for everything ^~^
P.S. FYI, I already did quite a bit of research on the Apple website just to make clear that I did do my homework beforehand and am not just relying on y'all to fix my problems, but Apple did not make it very clear exactly what happens when you turn off My Photo Stream. (Probably because my situation is a little rare.) I just need a very definite, clear answer, which I can't find online anywhere.
