When you visit a site, check the link - if it contains "https" instead of "http", it means that the site is safe from virus, hackers, etc. A secure site also has a green "lock" in the beginning of the link. In some (or most) smart phones, tabs, computers, laptops, the "https" and the lock turn green if it's safe. If it is not safe, then there comes an icon showing that the site is not safe.
