Thread Topic: Advice for animating?
-
My fiance wants a pixel animation for his twitch and I have the concept for it down.. I'm planning on making the reference characters for it but from there I'm not sure what the best way to animate it is.
Should I just go frame by frame or is there a program I should be using? Its a small animation so I'm not daunted but would love and advice you might have! -
I think frame by frame is the way to go

Yeah for pixel animation frame by frame is really the only way to do it, since programs for more automatically doing animation aren't really built for such resolutions, so you'd just get a blurry mess. That said, I believe there are pixel art programs that also do pixel art animation, I haven't done much of either so I don't know much beyond the existence of such tools, so I don't know how they work or how much they cost and stuff. From my limited understanding they are frame-by-frame, but more streamlined than trying to do frame by frame pixel animation in some other program like Photoshop or Krita
