So, I really like concept art. It can be messy, clean, sketchy, black and white, painted, simple, complex
Basically, no one gets to judge it because it’s just a concept.
I’m creating a series, or like more of a concept series.
Star Wars animated shows are like my biggest inspiration. Clone Wars’ (2008) animation was based off of Thunderbirds. It consists of painted and mostly matte surfaces. It’s rigid and characters are made to look almost like puppets. I just love it because it’s not super realistic, and has essentially created a whole new style of animation and modeling. I’ll post some pictures below of the animation.
Anyways, I really love the series and especially the directing style. So I decided to try at it, since I’m both interested in 3D animation and storyboarding (plus all design elements and such).
Here’s the evolution of their animation, with the first images being from season one, which was made in 2008.
