You know, I collectively stood back into my mind and dug into my disgusting memories of this place, and I was like, yeah, I really had some fun but I also thought of the s---tiest parts of it where some of you who draw are just GOD SO EW (i'm kidding I'm sure some of you are lovely people with your own moments)
But the problem I see is that I really do not want to be reduced to selling Tumblr cartoon art on pins and t-shirts through my unreasonably expensive ass Patreon and becoming a total drama queen/king who doesn't know that the best art always has a paradoxical structure; disorganized ideas within a basis of principles. I do not want to start up a YouTube channel where I'm in my own self-obsessed drama and creating awkwardly made cartoons about my boring life with the usual flashes of external drama that could easily be forgotten anyways.
You would expect the most bats--- problematic people (because some creative people have higher levels of psychoticism) to adapt themselves to the STRUCTURE of their professional workplace where those disorganized ideas will have a place, because that's how you make rebelling, self-obsessed artists become productive, but I'm starting to see that decline in MANY, MANY art communities and workplaces and it saddens me. -
I spent 20 minutes of my life typing out this long ass response that would bring you comfort but
i realised it doesnt make sense and it comes of as o lOl sO sNoB.
I do agree that art these days lacks the basic elements and principles of art. We spent an entire semester examining the decline of art and it was sad. Artists nowadays think art is just about self expression yEt avoid or forget using the elements which arw what makes historical art great imo.
Ok
In like a small diminished summary:
-wait until college (if you go that route)
-take an art course
-go from there and see if you like it.
There are sooooo many layers to the art community not just
Story telling art animations on YouTube and OC tumblr artists
If you cant afford going to a university then just do small summer classes at junior colleges.
>"the best art always has a paradoxical structure; disorganized ideas within a basis of principles. "
The reason i keep saying college is because they have art shows in most programs where you can make art and then sell your art there on top of that i know a couple of friends who were in the programs and shared that ideology
In conclusion bc im sleepy i just took a sleeping pill
Idk man just wait for college where you'll either mature and think about art differently or fit right in and find a career that's non toxic and people who share your ideology -
Before all my triggered users attack saying art is about self expression
It is but you cant just come out in a latex suit have a beat playing in the background swallow paint and then throw it up on a paper campus while dancing
Yes im dead serious a girl last year did that at the art show
Explain to me how that's art and how that ties into the elements
Exactly you can't
Ok bye triggered users -
