Okay, apologies for no 'not equal to' signs. They apparently don't show up, so I'll do the best I can with regular symbols and whatnot.
If Mello is Willy Wonka (we were reading over the script) and his Oompa Loompas tell Charlie and Grandpa Joe to try the Fizzy Lifting Soda that will evidentally lead to their demise, then they are his evil minions... And since they are under Mello's control, he is the Devil. After this realization, I brought up the following concepts.
Okay, so Mello is the Devil. We've established that much.
The Devil is not equal to God.
If this statement is true, then:
Mello does not equal God.
Mello's distinct opposite:
Mello does not equal Near.
Therefore:
Near = God
Which would really explain the finger puppets, yes? Think of it in terms of The Sims. With his finger puppets, Near can control every aspect of a person's life. He has their destiny wrapped around his finger, literally, seeing as they're finger puppets. Now, after Mello dies, Near wraps up his puppet and places it in a drawer. Isn't it true that by completing this action, Near has not only claimed dominance but complete control over Mello? After all, the remainder of his soul is locked in the dark drawer of his desk...

Don't school me on how this is preposterous and whatnot. I know it is. We were joking around, and this is what I came up with. I am my cosplay group's Near and Addie, my friend, is our Mello. Ironic... We both conjured up this amazing treat. It's like the Amazing Gobstopper or Three Course Dinner Gum... Only better. xD -
