Okay, I'm not entirely sure if this was an anime or what, but this brought me so much joy during the early teen years when the first internal turmoil and sadness starts to come you know? I'm from a country in south Asia and cartoon channels mostly came from the networks of other countries. I watched it in Cartoon Network, the Pakistani network version whatever. It was part of the toonami segment, and that usually included like anime stuff.. right?

Okay so, the style was very like old anime, bug eyes spiky hair type as far as I can remember. The plot was this two kids, one with light magic, the other with dark, they must go on an adventure through many lands gaining more power and experience and levelling up so together they can defeat the ultimate evil. The male lead had light magic, he was blond and I think he wore a blue shirt, he had a name but the main female lead called him Mr. Hero and that's the name I remember for him. The female lead used dark magic (for good use of course), she had red hair, twin braids. A black gown that was full sleeved and covered her legs fully, and a wooden staff I think? Her name was Kakuri.

The girl had a crush on the boy of course, but he was oblivious, of course.. but there was one moment when she leaves her hair open and he's like wow she's really pretty huh.. but at that point the girl is like yeah he doesn't see me that way, so she doesn't even notice that he's looking at her with so much awe.. then they watch the fireworks together.. It's very cliche but I remember thinking that was the cutest s--- ever.
The best part- they went through so much, they found so many friends, even their rivals start rooting for them. They go through this crowd of sub bosses to get to the final boss but just as they're about to enter the lair, they're like nah, we need more xp we gotta go back. And y'all, that was a great f---ing plot twist for me. -
I remember one episode, they were trying to go up this like mountain and the running gag was like certain characters kept falling off the cliff. I remember having a really bad day and that made me laugh so hard.. it was the best feeling.

Forgot to mention it was dubbed so a lot of things including names were probably different.. and the style was probably chibi, cause they were like tiny.
So if anyone comes across this thread and remembers this I would really appreciate if you'd tell me. If not, f in the chat for me. :/ -

See the shows aired in my country wayyyyy after it came out originally, depending on where it's from.. so I can't really say for sure. But I watched it in 2011-12, so I'd say between 2005-2010 :/
