OKAY FIRST OF ALL..
You can't compare real Pirates to One Piece Pirates :P
Why? Because One Piece isn't about piracy :P the whole piracy part about it is only there to symbolize the fun and freedom pirates have.
The entire story behind one piece isn't about a bunch of stupid do-gooder insult to piracy, no, if you think that, you're downright blatantly ignorant and haven't bothered to actually check first.
ONE PIECE is about two things: following your dreams regardless of how far-fetched it is, because in the end, what matters is that you tried to fullfill something you truly wanted.
And two, friendship. To care, and love the ones you're with, and not disregard them like a piece of moldy cheese residue.
(However there IS debate on the next thing I shall say but this is what [b]I[/i] think.)
It also shows that you shouldn't always trust the government, because just like everything else, it is laced with corruption also. Just because they claim to be the good guys, doesn't necessarily mean they are the good guys. One Piece tells us, to not follow blindly to something, but to think for yourself.
This is my fucing analysis. You don't have to agree with me. This is just to show, that I'm not one of those stupid fangirls that go "OMG SO KAWAII SUGOI DESU, PIRATES ARE SUGOI ZOMG!!!" But because I give a s--- about what things actually mean :P.
the other portion of my rant: fandom name One Piece Pirate.
no. just no. like I said above, we're not talking about real pirates, we're talking about a fictional NAME the fans call themselves.
if you dig deeper, there's more to that. i may be the only one to think this but again, THIS IS WHAT I THINK:
I think, an actual "One Piece Pirate" is someone who wants to follow the example of the main crew, Straw Hat Pirates. To follow your dreams and care for your friends or 'crewmates'
I say this again, you don't have to agree with me, but this is what I think :P
Rant over. -
Also, this is a cartoon, if you're going to get insulted because I said something insulting about one piece, you need to get a life.
-
I guess I agree there then.

Carolyn NewbieYeah, kind of like how Hetalia haters think all fans are like "OMG DESU THIS IS LIKE THE BEST HISTORY BOOK EVER. COUNTRIES IN YAOI DESU!"
I honestly don't believe Hetalia is the greatest anime, as far as storyline and things go. It basically to me presents an interesting idea, what if countries were represented as people? And much of it is stereotypical, and biased. And it has some historic points in there as well, but in reality it is just a show about fun and interactions between these characters from different backgrounds. To me, Hetalia uses comedy, yet some facts, and shows that even people in different places and lives, can get along and are in fact human.
Why do I like Hetalia? Even though I don't think it's a strong anime, it plants a seed in my mind for imagination. Yeah yeah, there's romance, but if you've ever read that usuk fanfic I wrote I take the history part of it seriously. And in honesty, most fangirls irritate me, that seem to miss the points and reasons for things. But my point is, anime is meant to be an escape, and it's not always serious or relevant. And it's subjective, everyone's interest in it could be for different reasons.
Sorry I ranted in your rant. xD I agree. -
