I got Classic Arminianism. Not a bad general assessment of my position (I'm Wesleyan Arminian) but the results also said that I believed in "eternal security" (once saved can never be lost). But I answered the question on that specific issue the other way. (that one can walk away from their faith and be lost). Something is wrong with the quiz. I took the quiz twice to make sure I didn't accidentally hit the wrong button.

Test says, that I am 86% hyper-Calvinist. Well, but in questions of atonement, justification and sanctification I am rather hold the views which are close to the views of Andreas Osiander. Also, I think that penal substitution is insufficient to explain how atonement works today in us. I always believe, that our salvation depended on what Christs work in us now, not on His historical works 2000 years ago.

I came back a Lutheran next week depending on my mood I might come back a hyper-Calvinist Ive gone back and forth for years. I do wonder sometimes why God was so discouraged, miffed, angry with the Children of Israel, Moses, the enemies of Israel, Judah, Israel.......? Didnt He know he was in control?

I got low calvinism. I did totally believe the whole calvinism thing, but I'm drifting toward arminianism.... just find that they (arminians) dont seem to agree with each other, which is disturbing. I'll go with total depravity, conditional election (prevenient grace offered to all on hearing the Gospel), unlimited atonement (Christs sacrifice was sufficient for all), resistible grace ( rejecting the Gospel call, prevenient grace) and once saved, always saved. Perseverance of the saints.
Am I a 2 point calvinist? I'm arminian, but with reservations.

That's pretty close to Classic Arminianism (Total depravity, prevenient grace for all, election for those that believe (couple variations on this - either God looking to the future to see those who will have faith, or corporate election view,) & resistible grace. Classic Arminianism can include either believe in OSAS or conditional security.
Also, there are variations on Arminianism just as there are many, many variations of Calvinism. You will find few monolithic human theories ;)
There is also Provisionism, and some other different theories besides Cal/Arm as well.

I balked at Question 14: is proceed the desired verb, or is it precede? I answered the question as if it were precede because precede is the classic question: Does regeneration precede faith?
It read, Does regeneration proceed faith? which Ive never seen posed/worded before. Itd be nice if Question 14 could somehow be indubitably clarified within the quiz. My score might be inaccurate depending on what was actually being asked in the question.
Lastly, I believe in the well-meant offer. Im a WCF high-orthodox high-Presbyterian. John Murray was clear on this: we believe in the well-meant offer. The final results of this test, however, said, You do not believe in the well-meant offer, so Im wondering what I could have given as answer to render that verdict.
Anyhoo, just some feedback.
Very fun quiz. Thanks so much! -
Not even close. These questions are way too reductionistic and fail to grasp the nuances included. I do NOT deny the "L" in TULIP, but it thinks I do. And the answers are not much better in terms of providing a real spectrum of positions to these very thorny issues.

Questions 12, 13, and I think 5,6,7 did not give accurate choices that reflected what I really believe. I think that the answers of certain questions were almost like little traps but who knows.
There were answers I would have picked both or more for one question.

This is better than many quizzes, but the options are still often too limited. There's no option for election being for service rather than salvation (a la Lesslie Newbingen), and on quite a few of the questions, I wished for other options.

Maybe I misunderstand Limited Atonement. I believe that Christ died for all but only the elect will have eternal life in heaven. Thats who the atonement is limited to in my understanding of the doctrine

The text that summarized my result had 7 of 10 points directly opposite of the answer I had chosen, so that wasnt awesome, but the idea is great and I enjoyed it!
-
My results reflected that i leaned towards Wesleyan Arminian. I am, in actuality, a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quaker).

Does regeneration logically proceed faith? The verb should read 'precede'!!!!

I always was on the fence, but I cannot believe a loving God would ordain souls to hell. How can an unbeliever be blamed for being such if he has no choice in the matter. However we cannot earn our salvation and I believe faith is a gift from God and although I don't believe in eternal security as such, I do believe if we ARE truly saved we will be "kept by the power of God" and that IS a comforting thought. I think there are reasonable thoughts on both sides and we need to be CHRISTIANS first and foremost, and not fall out over it all.
