Our "When Will I Die" Quiz?

  1. I landed on my feet this time. And I think if this were a game then an achievement would have been unlocked. We landed right outside the Queen's castle, so I didn't get to see what it the exterior looked like unless I wanted to take a visit to soak city. In front of us stood big green double doors with brass handles. I was so amazed by just the door that I didn't notice the doormen standing next to them. One shockingly looked so much like Sam that I almost went up to him and gave him a hug. "Welcome to the 2012 Annual Spring Faerie Ball," the doorman said. Lightning crackled overhead. "Yeah. Spring is starting off fantastic," Cole mumbled under his breath. Luckily the doormen didn't notice.
  2. Instead, they each took a handle and pushed the doors open. We all walked inside, the doors closing behind us. I think my jaw fell to the floor. Creatures from every District, some I even remember from the Underbelly, dancing and socializing with each other, bright colors cascading throughout the room like a moving rainbow. The floor was made up of solid marble and granite, and chandeliers hung from the ceiling, each crystal lighting up the room individually. Food lined every wall, placed on a long, rectangular table. There were even trees. Real trees. Not those artificial ones that you see at proms. These were actual trees, and there were things crawling up and down them. Pixies flew around, leaving trails of dust behind them. A fountain sprang about in the middle of the room, water spraying out, with couples lingering, stealing kisses and laughing with each other. Overall, the room was huge. And I think this was just the Ballroom of the castle. It looked about bigger than a football field. One room. Amazing.
  3. At back of the room was an elegant stage decorated with brilliantly exotic bouquets of flowers surrounding thrones. Sitting in each throne I guessed were the leaders of each District. "Hey!" I turned around and saw Sadie linking her arms with a boy I didn't know. I didn't know her quite well, since we barely got any time to get to know each other in the first place, but considering that she pretty much led us to victory, I assume she's worth giving a shot. "This is Chant," she said with a twinkle in her eye. "He's my, uh, date for the night." Bella gave her a hug. "Well you both look ama"”I forgot we have a table reserved for all of us! Let's go!"
  4. ~ I sat there just eating. There was a bunch of food, but most of it wasn't what we ate back in the regular world. There were fried bat wings, goblin fingers, pixie heads, and even some gooey stuff called yackamush. Enough said about that. We were all sitting down at the table for only a couple minutes until they started going their separate ways. And I know we all haven't become best friends or anything, but we could have at least talked for a little bit. Bella was eating nonchalantly and then I think she had a mini heart attack when she pointed out that girl Salem Knight. "You're going to be my date, alright?" she had said to Ash, pulling him up from his chair and forcing him to go to the fountain with her. Gumbo was in the trees, playing around with the other animals, while Chant and Sadie were on the dance floor. And don't even get me started on Sarah and Cole. They have this sort of skinny love for each other, where they really like one another but just wont admit it. They flirt like pros. Alex and Christofer were over by the ice sculptures that I hadn't noticed before. One was of a swan, another a great faerie with battle armor on.
  5. I sighed in my seat, glancing around at the others who attended. My eyes stopped at a werewolf chewing on a gremlin horn. It made me wonder if some of the creatures here were somewhat offended by the food choices. I mean, I would be kind of uncomfortable if they served human burgers here. I noticed torches in every corner of the room. My eyes were glued to the flames. Fire. Burning. Misty and James...the Underbelly...I shook my head. It's over, like Gumbo said. It's over. Right? I watched as groups of people were laughing, socializing, mingling with each other, and found my foot tapping to the music that was the only thing that wasn't so foreign to me. "Hey," Cole said, snapping me out of my thoughts. "We're going off to explore. Wanna come?" I could tell they were holding hands. "Explore the castle? Is that allowed?" Cole shrugged. "These things only happen once a year. Might as well." I waved the offer off. "Good," he replied. "I only asked because Sarah asked me to." The two got up, Sarah mouthing an apology. "If you need us, we'll be someplace." They started walking away. I gave Sarah a thumbs up when she glanced over her shoulder, leaving me to be a loner at the table.
  6. "Alright," I muttered to myself. "This is fun. Alone at this big table, listening to some good music in a nice dress. Ugh, how much more lovely can this night get?" I took a sip of water, trying to look occupied. OH yeah, water is so interesting. I looked around for Alex and Christofer, but this place was just too big for me to do so while just sitting down. I pushed my chair out right when another sat down next to me. I glanced in their direction and saw a worn out Sadie gulping down some water. "Whoa there," I said, smiling. "Calm down now, we haven't even been here for an hour yet." She laughed, and then her expression softened. "I know why you came." I shrugged. "I just wanted to check it out." Sadie tilted her head. "Really? Because I'm pretty sure there was one specific reason." When I didn't say anything, she pressed on. "Sam, right? Part of my reason for going was for him, too. He was my friend. But he signed up to do it, so I guess I shouldn't blame him." I took a sip of my drink. "What do you mean?" She narrowed her eyes. "Christofer didn't tell you?"
  7. Bella told Ash to smile and laugh. "Who's this Salem Knight?" he asked through gritted teeth. Bella put her hand on his knee, swiping a glance behind her shoulder. "I'll tell you la"”" Suddenly she laced her hand with Ash's. "Oh my God, she's looking out way. Don't make eye contact, don't you dare! Her stare will turn you to stone like Medusa." Ash laughed. "Are you serious?" Bella tried her best to casually duck her head, but it wasn't working out. "I'm serious. Ugh, there's her date, Tanner. Okay, here's the plan: We're going to casually go get some punch since they're right there and you're going to ask me to do dance, alright? And if she tries asking you questions then just act like you didn't hear her, okay?" Ash grinned, but nodded. "And what exactly do I get out of this?" Bella was already standing, still holding onto his hand. She smirked. "An amazing night spent with me." She started leading Ash to the beverages. "And I'll save you a dance. A real one. You're actually really cute. You know that, right?"
  8. "Where are we going?" Sarah asked as Cole led her deeper into the castle. It surprised her how well he navigated through the place. He never hesitated when he took a turn or never even looked back. "I want to show you something," he replied, still keeping his focus in front of him. "Have you been here before?" Cole squeezed her hand. She didn't know if it was flirtatiously or if it just came natural, but either way she liked it. "I had to have a trial when they banished me since Lady Kora didn't know what to do, so we had it in the Faerie District." Then that one question that Sarah always wanted to ask but was never relevant to the conversation finally came into play. "What did you do to get yourself banished?" Cole winced ever so slightly as he turned a corner. "I guess I drank too much blood." Sarah stopped in her tracks, stopping Cole as well. "Human blood?" He looked down, red flashing in his eyes just for a few seconds. "I was hungry. They kept us very limited in the Vampire District before, and we had specific times for when we could hunt. I overslept and my time was gone. I decided to go out to the human world and snag myself something, since their animals always taste better." Sarah didn't say anything, so Cole went on. "I was in Yosemite. I saw these group of teenagers hiking down a trail. I haven't fed from a human in so long, and I was curious and hungry and...I drank their blood."
  9. It was silent for a while. She let go of his hand. "You mean you murdered them." Cole turned his back, raking his hands through his hair. "That's what vampires are, right? Murderers?" He noticed the tone in his voice, which was cold and venomous. "We're cruel, us vampires. We're cruel and cold-blooded and we have no conscious or heart. But what I did? That was a mistake. It was my mistake, and I got punished for it. But what they didn't know is that I left enough blood in them so they could live. They were supposed to turn, but the police found and thought they were dead so they buried them in the ground. They were buried to under that they suffocated. I'm not a murderer." Sarah didn't say anything, although she looked ashamed for assuming things. "Now, do you want to see where I was going to take you, or would you like to hear yet another one of my fascinating stories?" She grinned, but it faded quickly. "I'm sorry." Cole took her hand again, gentle but hesitant. "It's fine. I know I look like a bad ass and everything, but I wouldn't go that far." He laughed and started walking again. "Come on, let's go."
  10. "Tell me what?" I glanced around again, and finally found Christofer and Alex mingling with some werewolves. "Sam and Christofer knew each other a while back. They knew Oath was gaining his memory back and Christofer asked him to keep you out of trouble. He also asked him to keep an eye out for Mr. Woodbury and see if he could lead them anywhere. Christofer also knew about Xavier." I furrowed my brow. "How do you know about this?" Sadie looked down, and then flicked her eyes back into mine. "I was sifting through Sam's car. I found his phone and decided to go through his text messages just to see if it would explain his death. If you don't believe me I could bring the phone tomorrow maybe, if you decide to stay here that much longer." I put my hand up and shook my head. "I believe you. Um, excuse me for a moment." I scoot out of my chair, and started walking away from the table. Xavier. Christofer knew about him. Xavier killed Sam. He killed Sam and he killed Nick. Mr. Woodbury, too? He knew he was apart of Oath's army and he decided to put Sam in his clutches? I went for Sam. I went for him, and Christofer knew that. I tapped him on the shoulder. He smiled when he turned around and saw me. I didn't return it. "Is everything okay?" he asked, his smile faltering. I kept my face neutral. "We need to talk out in the hall. Now."
  11. Ash and Bella made their ways to the punch bowl as planned. He ladled himself a cup of punch and noticed Salem staring. She had golden blonde hair falling down her back, and bright green eyes. Pretty, yes, but too much makeup, he thought. "Hey, um, do you wanna dance?" he asked, trying not to pay attention to the stares of Salem. Bella grinned. "Yeah, Ash, I'd love"”" "Tanner, come on, let's dance," she cut off quite loudly. As the couple made their way to the dance floor, Bella pretended to make a sick face. "She looks like hoochie Barbie, huh?" He laughed. "I don't know why you care if you look better than her. I mean, you already do." Bella's grin vanished. "Really?" Ash's lip twitched. He's never really been good at sweet-talking girls like Christofer or Alex or even Cole were. "Um, yeah." Smooth, he thought. Bella bit her lip, a smile forming. She tugged on his arm. "Let's dance."
  12. Cole led Sarah to a room with a pristine white door. "Are you sure we're authorized to be in here?" Cole smirked. "Of course. We were invited here, remember? And if we get caught, I'll just turn the charm up a notch." Sarah laughed. "Right." Cole turned the handle of the door, making it swoosh open. "Ladies first." Sarah walked in, Cole going after, shutting the door behind him. "Welcome to the observatory." The room was filled with telescopes and all these cool gadgets to peer into the sky. The walls were painted white, and there were shelves and shelves of books lined along them. Sarah looked up, and almost gasped. There was no ceiling. Well, there was, but it was transparent one, so you could see the night sky clearly, though blurry because of the rain. "When the weather's nice they open it up." Sarah almost forgot that Cole was in the room. She turned to face him. "How do you know about this?" He sat down in a nearby chair, rolling around it. "During my trial I used to sneak out of my room and come here and just read or watch the stars. Mostly really late though, so that I didn't get caught. I thought you'd like to see it."
  13. Sarah grinned. "It's amazing. Thank you for showing me." Cole leaned back on the chair. "So is it time to discuss yet? You know, about you being in denial of our love for each other?" She rolled her eyes. For one split second she thought ht was going to start acting serious. "I guess so. And I'm not in denial. I don't love you." Cole faked hurt on his face, but he laughed. "You don't love me, but you like me." He said that very matter-of-factly, Sarah thought. And the truth was, she wasn't going to disagree. "You're cute. I'll give you that." But she wasn't going to necessarily agree either. Cole stood up and laughed, his dimple showing, almost overshadowing his fangs. He drew closer to her, and put his cold hands on her waist comfortably. "I'll take that as a yes." Then he leaned in and they were kissing. And screw that Twilight crap, about Edward hurting Bella whenever they kissed, because it definitely didn't hurt one bit. His lips were soft and frosty and tasted like mint. Sarah was overwhelmed by all of it, but in a good way. She fell for him. Cole. This stranger of a guy that had made a deal with her. An item for a life. And she believed she was right. Fate had its ways. Cole broke away, smiling. "End of discussion."
