Hogwarts Part 27

Will you get the Hogwarts guy of your dreams? Find out in this quiz. Starting in your third year, you will get the opportunity to become friends and more with Neville Longbottom, Draco Malfoy, Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, George Weasley, and Oliver Wood.

*Recap* You had a brief conversation with Hermione, Ginny, and Arianna about Ron and Draco. The next day, you were woken up by Harry and had also had a brief, but less pleasant conversation with him. Hermione told you about his "Voldemort issue" after he left. Within the next few days, you boarded the Hogwarts Express and found a compartment alone, only to be joined by two new friends, Edward Linton and Sabrina Kimble, who asked to become members of the DA.

  1. Well, apparently I completely forgot about Harry getting kicked off the Quidditch team, as well as Fred and George. I also forgot about Hagrid's return and probably twenty other things that happened before Christmas. I'll probably forget about more things in the future, so take an apology in advance. Just pretend "you" knew about this the entire time. Sorry!
  2. My return to Hogwarts was certainly the distraction I needed. I was thrown back into the rotation of homework, Quidditch, and the DA full force, which wasn't entirely unwelcome given the fact that I was on rocky ground with pretty much all of my Gryffindor guy friends. Since Harry was off of the Quidditch team, I no longer had to worry about running into him on the pitch; however, he certainly made a point of avoiding conversation during the DA meetings. Neville hadn't mentioned anything about our unfortunate encounter at St. Mungo's and seemed to be trying his best to forget the entire thing. As the guilt-ridden person I was, I still didn't quite know how to look Oliver in the eye after that night of eavesdropping. The twins were a different matter; they doggedly remained as irritating and entertaining as ever. Ron was perhaps the most agreeable of them all, but he and Harry were no longer on good terms, so I made a point of avoiding him in Harry's presence. And back in Slytherin, Draco was busy abusing his power as a prefect. So, in summary, it was just another year at Hogwarts.
  3. One day I decided to take a walk down to the Black Lake, despite the fact that snow and ice still encrusted the entirety of Hogwarts. My breath puffed out before me in white clouds and my teeth were chattering slightly, but I didn't really mind. I wasn't the only one outside, though. "Hello, Neville," I greeted the cloaked figure sitting by the lake under a tree. He looked up at me distractedly and seemed to snap out of his train of thought. "Oh, hello, Cassandra," he said as I took a seat beside him. "Nice day, huh?" I commented lightly, gesturing at the falling snow and the frozen lake. He laughed slightly but a frown soon replaced his smile. "Something wrong?" I asked curiously. He wordlessly passed over a copy of the Daily Prophet. I scanned the front page, which featured an article on the escape of ten Azkaban prisoners, all of whom were Death Eaters. "I heard about this yesterday," I said regretfully, "but I'm sure we're all safe here. Dumbledore wouldn't let them anywhere near Hogwarts." He looked at me with that expression of "you-don't-understand-what-I-mean" I knew all too well. I waited for him to elaborate. "I never told anyone about my parents, you know," he said softly. I didn't say anything; I had a feeling he just needed to talk for a while. "They were tortured into insanity by the Lestranges before I ever knew them. That's why I couldn't stand the Cruciatus Curse in Professor Moody's class last year. I visit them at St. Mungo's, but they don't remember me. They don't even know my name. I didn't want anyone to know because I knew they would pity me. But this is something between me and them," he looked pointedly at the Lestranges on the front page of the Prophet. "My grandmother thought I was ashamed of my parents, but I'm actually quite proud. I never thought I was good enough to live up to what they did, but now I know I am. They stood up to Voldemort. Now I'm doing the same." He finished and looked down at me, seeming to be at peace for the first time in a while. I was rendered speechless for the moment; there was really nothing to be said. Instead I simply wrapped my arms around him and stayed there for a moment or two. It wasn't a romantic gesture either. It was just a way to let him know he wasn't alone anymore. And from the way he smiled when I pulled back, he knew it too.
  4. A weight, however small, seemed to be lifted off my shoulders as I spent the next hour or so talking with Neville. One friendship had been mended at the very least. We reluctantly parted ways to our respective common rooms, once more separated by our houses.
  5. Slowly but surely, life at Hogwarts dragged on under Umbridge's watchful eye. She was often lurking around while Hagrid and Professor Trelawney were teaching their classes, and I knew they were both in danger of being sacked. However, I was a bit too caught up in trying to balance my schedule to care. Stacks of homework piled ever higher as the O.W.L.s approached, Roger Davies was forcing everyone to practice Quidditch at least four to five times a week, and the DA was getting more and more difficult to hide from Umbridge. On the other hand, Edward and Sabrina were well on their way to becoming trusted members of the DA. I had taken a liking to them almost immediately, though I had a feeling they liked trouble just as much as my other Gryffindor friends. But without the Gryffindors, my life wouldn't be nearly as interesting.
  6. My point was proven at breakfast one day in February. Ron plunked himself down beside me at the Ravenclaw table. I couldn't help but be a bit shocked. I was always the one invading the Gryffindor table, and it had never been reversed before. As I waited for him to say something, he just twiddled his thumbs and seemed to be staring off into space. "Er, Ron...what are you doing?" I asked with a slightly concerned laugh. He jerked slightly at my voice and his ears turned a bright shade of pink. "Huh? Oh, right...well, there's a Hogsmeade visit coming up, and I, er, I was wondering if you wanted to do something there," he said nervously. "With you? On Valentine's Day?" I asked, perhaps a bit teasingly. "Well, I guess...yeah," he said. As usual, he wasn't too good with words. "Sure. I'd love to," I accepted. He breathed a sigh of relief. "Brilliant! Well, I'll see you then," he said with a stupid grin, and walked away in a daze. I looked after him with an amused smile, and then remembered Harry. I didn't think Ron knew exactly what kind of trouble he was walking into. But then again, I didn't either.
  7. Another person replaced Ron on the seat beside me just a moment later. Sabrina raised an eyebrow. "So, what was THAT all about?" she asked mischievously, jerking her head slightly in Ron's direction. I blushed slightly, the corners of my lips tilting upward in embarrassment. "I'm going to Hogsmeade with Ron," I said, attempting to sound casual. "Wait, why were you watching us?" I asked, narrowing my eyes suspiciously. "Just curious," she waved it off nonchalantly. "Spying, more like," I said, rolling my eyes. She grinned, but didn't deny it.
  8. As we walked out of the Great Hall to go to class, a figure strode toward us farther down the corridor. I recognized the tall, burly figure instantly, especially in his Quidditch robes. Unfortunately, he was headed right for us. "Don't talk to me don't talk to me don't talk to me..." I muttered under my breath, trying to appear invisible despite the fact that we were almost the only ones in the corridor. Oliver stopped right in front of us. He looked at Sabrina with a slightly displeased look. "Could you leave us alone for a moment?" he asked her. My heart sank a bit. I was going to have to face him alone. She seemed to contemplate arguing against his request, but then stalked off with a look that told me I was in for a full interrogation when we met up in Charms class. "Um..." I started off, realizing I had absolutely no idea what to say. I tried my best to avoid his gaze because I knew he would see the guilt that lurked there. Oliver rubbed his head tiredly. "Cassandra, I can't do this anymore," he said. I could hear the pain in his voice, and as I looked up to meet his eyes, I could see it too. "I know you've moved on, I know you probably don't want me around anymore, and you probably don't want to hear any of this. But I can't stay away anymore. Three years ago all I thought about was Quidditch. Now all I think about is you. We can just be friends, if that's what you want. I don't care, but please just tell me we can go back to how it was before all of this happened," he ended a bit desperately.
  9. Not for the first time, my mouth opened but no words came out. I weighed my words carefully, trying not to let his pleading brown eyes get to me. "I can't just erase the past, Oliver. It's over and done with and those memories are going to stick with me for a while," I started off, and he looked quite crestfallen. "But we can start over, if that's what you want," I said. He looked more than happy to oblige. After a moment he stuck out his hand with a smile. "I'm Oliver Wood." I took his hand, the beginnings of a smile playing at the corners of my lips. "Cassandra Levell. Nice to meet you, Oliver." "Well, I should probably head to Charms class," I said after a moment. "Yeah...I'll, er, I'll see you around, then," he said, turning to leave. I suddenly threw my arms around his waist and rested my head against his chest. "I missed you," I murmured softly, and then pulled back, my cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Up until then I hadn't realized how good it felt to have him back again. He looked utterly blissful just then. I cleared my throat uncomfortably. "Um, right...Charms," I said distractedly. I practically ran all the way to class.
  10. *music826* Well, I really hope you enjoyed! As it turns out, my summer is going to be busier than I had anticipated, so editions probably won't be coming as fast as I said. However, I should easily get at least one or two out a week. Also, I haven't managed to squeeze the twins in for a while, so I promise they will appear soon. However, I'm completely short on ideas for them, so if you have any, I'd really appreciate some help. Until next time :)
