  1. Blood came pouring out of Elijah's mouth and he staggered back. There was a loud thud and I heard a little yelp from poor Valentine who doesn't even know what was happening right now. I glared at Bentley filled with rage. But before I could blow him away with my furious tyrade against him, he said with a sad sigh, "That monster that attacked Valentine was a Boretalom. I was in the jungle hunting and I remembered the teeth marks of a Boretalom were the same ones on Valentine's side. Boretaloms have poison in their bite and can transfer from any physical contact such as kissing." Everyone looked at Valentine now. Her body was trembling. She was still turned around though, not wanting to see what was real. "Valentine-," Bentley said as he stepped towards her and took hold of her arm. She jerked away and continued to stand there. "This isn't real, this isn't real, this isn't real. I love Elijah Jace Woodley and he loves me, Valentine Marie Bloomings. I live in California with my mom and dad. I go to high school. McDonald's is just around the corner of my house." I shut my eyes and felt bad. Really bad. Elijah has just experienced the thought of losing Valentine and just as he was getting her back, he gets Valentine's poison and ends up dying. This could be a long lost Shakespeare play for all I know. Elijah's blood seemed to form a puddle around Valentine's feet. Absolutely nothing could make matters worse. It was all silent, waiting for Valentine's reaction. The only sound was a squeaky, "oh no" coming from Emma. Then Valentine sat down in the blood. She cupped her hands and filled it with blood until it all seeped back onto the floor. She was hugging her knees tight, and she was whispering words in between her tears. I didn't know what to do but watch. She was completely traumatized.
  2. I glanced at Bentley and saw that his eyes were fixed on Valentine and they were filled with sympathy-as if all he wanted to do was comfort her. The color of the blood matching her hair, Valentine stood up with stained clothing and looked at us with a hard glare. "He's gone? Forever?" I didn't want to be the one to answer that question. "Not forever. There's still a chance he could live." The voice was coming from the t.v. Director Jenkins, to be exact. I ran in front of the t.v. like how I do whenever the Bad Girls Club is on and there's going to be a huge fight about to happen. "What do you mean?" I asked, feeling hatred towards him. How could he possibly look delighted right now? "The monster poisoned his body. Not his soul. This procedure is very rare, but it if you want Elijah to live, then you must clense the remaining blood with lemon juice so that it will burn off the monster's poison. After that, come back here and we'll plunge deeper into matters such as the consequences for ______'s outburst towards the agency." The t.v. flipped off and I sunk to my knees. Consequences? There were consequences for yelling at the agency? Yeah, I called them filthy animals but at least I didn't call them what I was thinking in my head right now. It begins with the letter 'D' and it ends in 'icks'. That's right, I said it. Besides, I said please. It was a bittersweet cry for help. And now I'm getting consequences? Ridiculous.
  3. I got up and looked at Valentine. She was still covered in Elijah's blood, even though the sight of blood made her nauseous. "Do you want to do it?" Bentley asked her. Valentine gave him a sour look. "Of course I do. You shouldn't even have to question it." She strided over to the fridge to see if there were any lemons. She slammed it shut in fury and then started poking around the kitchen. "We need lemons." She said. It seriously looked like if she didn't have any lemons in her hand in about 5 seconds she was going to murder somebody. But instead, she slumped to the ground and started weeping. I was about to go and comfort her but Bentley held me back and went himself. I don't know, Bentley seemed rather fond of Valentine now a days. He kneeled down to her and put his hand on top of hers. She didn't pull away, she fell into him. She hugged him right while Bentley just stroked her hair. It was touching yes, but it just seemed strange because that was usually Elijah's job. Bentley helped Valentine up and said with such confidence in his voice, "We're going to help him and he's going to live and you two are going to run into each other's arms and he's going to smother you in kisses, okay?" She nodded and went to sit by Elijah's still bleeding body. She started hiccuping as she closed his eye lids for him. Something I thought Valentine would never do for a blood covered body. Bentley motioned us to go outside with him. He sighed and took one last look at Valentine. "I can't stand seeing her like this. We have to get some lemons." He said. "We all can't stand seeing her like this. But where are we going to get them?" I asked. "It's a jungle. They must have some lemons around her somewhere; you know, unless those stupid entrepreneurs teared those down too. But two of you have to stay with Valentine. I would love to stay, but you guys need me. You have no idea what roams around in this jungle."
  4. Jerimiah and Emma decided to stay while the rest of us went to search for lemons. I would have volunteered of course, but Bentley said he needed my good senses. Whatever that meant. I trudged along the dirt following Bentley and staying sandwiched in between Jay and Taylor while Dakota was look out in the back. I felt like Obama and they were my Secret Service. "Do you know where you're going?" Dakota asked Bentley with a tiresome voice. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure. I remember walking by the orange trees and banana trees around her somewhere. I hate oranges and bananas so I didn't even bother to see if there was any more fruit out there." His voice sounded nervous and straggled. It was even a bit hoarse which was unusual because Bentley's voice was always cool, calm, and collected. "we're here." He said almost 10 minutes later. We were standing in front of a huge orange tree and next to it was a banana tree twice its size. I walked over to the banana tree and plucked one off. It was perfectly ripe and yellow, good enough to eat. I followed Bentley, who went beyond the two trees, and there stood an apple and grapefruit tree. Disappointed, a picked at a couple of blue berries off a bush that was nearby. "I guess there aren't any lemons here." Taylor said with a sigh. "wait," Bentley said as he strode over to the grape fruit tree, "these ARE lemons..." "What's wrong with them? They're like mutated." Jay stated with a weird look on his face. I nudged him and went to join Bentley by the tree. "If these will help Elijah then I guess we could use them. Even if they aren't the average size lemon." I picked one off the lowest branch of the tree and caressed it in my arms. The rest of us got all of the lemons we could handle and headed back to the hut.
  5. Valentine was in the same position she was at when we left her. Jerimiah and Emma saw us coming and asked about the lemons. "They look like grapefruit." He had said. I showed them to Valentine and she bolted up in anxiety. "wait, how are we going to clense the body of Elijah?" She asked, biting her lip in worry. "Don't worry. I got this. They trained me to do this in the agency." Bentley reassured her, but in an icy tone of voice. "Can I watch?" She asked, fiddling with her fingers. "I don't think you should...it's going to be a little messy. I heard you don't like blood, and this procedure is going to--" "This is Elijah we're talking about. No matter what happens to him, I'm going to always be there for him like he was always there for me. Got it?" Valentine said in a dark tone, indicating that she was not playing around. Bentley sighed and nodded. "There's a bathtub here right? Okay, get all the lemons and start squeezing them in the tub. Don't add any water and remember to close the drain." I nodded and the rest of us went into the bathroom and did as was told. "Are you sure this is going to work?" Valentine asked Bentley. "I'm 97.45% sure." He replied. "It's better than 75%." She replied, glancing up at Bentley. "Valentine..." He put a hand on her shoulder, but said nothing more that her name. What else could he do? He couldn't tell her everything was going to be alright when it might not. He couldn't cup her face and kiss her like he's always wanted to because of Elijah. He couldn't confess his love for her at a time like this. The only thing he could do was be a friend figure in her life; even if he wanted to be more.
  6. "I love him, you know." Valentine said, stroking Elijah's hair. "I know you do. That's why I'm willing to do everything in my power to save him...for you." He replied. Then Valentine did something Bentley never expected her to do. She leaned in and kissed him on the cheek followed by a thank you. Bentley blushed, but tried to conceal it. "Do we need to fill the entire bathtub with lemon juice?" Dakota called out. Taylor then appeared by his side and squeezed some lemon juice in his eye. "What the bazooka man?!" Dakota exclaimed, putting his hand to his eye, but still laughing. "It'll work better, so yeah. And if you need more lemons there's plenty in the fridge." Bentley responded with a nod towards the fridge and trying to conceal a grin. "Oh, alright. We have tons of lemons right here and we're already have way through so it will probably take about 15 more minutes? Just hang in there, Valentine." Dakota said, talking more to Valentine than Bentley. Valentine tried to smile, but her optimism just wasn't in the right place at the moment. "Do you know what will happen after we clense Elijah's body?" She asked Bentley. "Not a clue. I've never really gone beyond that point before." Valentine sighed, "Also, thank you for saving me. I really appreciate it." Bentley didn't know whether or not Valentine was saying that to blame him for what happened to Elijah, but it mostly seemed sincere. She looked down on herself and almost threw up at the sight of blood all over her. There was even blood in her hair, but it wasn't that noticeable. "I guess I'll go change." She said, waddling like a penguin to the closet.
  7. The sword was still jabbed in Elijah, but Bentley thought it would be better to remove it in the tub so that no more blood would be lost and it could go off into the lemon juice. All Bentley could think about was making Valentine happy. She came back in shorts and a gray sweater. God, she was so beautiful. All Bentley wanted to do was wrap his arms around her and just kiss her and hold her and hug her and just fall in love with her over and over again. But that wouldn't happen. She already confessed her love for Elijah. It is what it is. "The tub is filled!" I called out from the bathroom, my hands drenched in lemon juice. I felt like an air freshener. A human air freshener. I'd roll around in your car or your home and the scent of lemons would stay there for like a year. Seriously. "Okay, help me carry Elijah's body!" Bentley ordered the guys. Everyone pitched in though, and we gently lowered Elijah's body into the tub. We kept his jeans on but his shirts had to go off. He had some might fine abs if I should add. "Will he drown?" Valentine asked. "No. He's already dead. It'll clense his body, his blood. And then soon, hopefully, his soul will be revived and find its way back. That's what I heard anyways." "After this, do you think we can use the extra lemons to make some lemonade?" Jerimiah asked wistfully.
  8. "Sure." Jay said with sarcasm. "Well, geez. My bad, my bad." Jerimiah said, putting his hands up as if the po-po was about to arrest him. "So like....what do we do now?" I asked, just watching Elijah's body chill in the tub. "We wait." Bentley said. Ugh. I hate waiting. At a time like this, my patience level has been deteriorating at a fast pace. I wiped my hands on a towel and sprawled across the couch. I was so tired. I looked down and realized that Valentine's dry blood was still on me. I decided to take a quick, 5 minute shower and get a fresh pair of clothes. After that, I went back to the couch and slumped down. "Any room for me?" Dakota asked with a smile. I sat up , let him sit down, and then rest my head on his legs like a pillow. He started stroking my hair and I closed my eyes. "You know, I never really got the chance to tell you about myself. You don't have to answer since you're probably really tired and drained like I am, but I feel like we don't know that much about each other. So anyways, I live in Vancouver in Canada. Way up there, huh? I have an older sister named Dana and she's probably one of the most annoying people in the whole entire universe. My parents are divorced and I live with my mom while my dad and his girlfriend are off in Vegas doing who knows what. Oh yeah, and I have a dog named Ponyo. He's a husky; and if you stop by Vancouver you should come over and see him because I think you'd love him. My favorite vegetable is corn because corn actually tastes good and doesn't really have that weird vegetable after taste, you know what I mean? I prefer In 'n' Out french fries over McDonald's fries any day, but I'll definitely choose Sonic's tater tots over the two of them. Oh and I forgot to mention that I just got out of jail."
  9. I bolted upright when he said that. "Really?! YOU'RE A CRIMINAL?" I asked, shocked. "I was kidding. I just wanted to know if you were sleeping or not." He said with a small laugh. "Ok, good. Jesus, don't do that to me ever again! There's better ways to check if somebody's asleep, you know." I said with a grin. "Yeah, but those options aren't as fun are they?" Dakota replied with yet another adorable laugh. "You know Emma's going to kill me right? I said to him in a hushed tone. "why?" "Because I'm talking to you. I don't know if you've noticed, but it seems to me that she's got the hotts for you. She gets really pissed off whenever I talk to you or Jerimiah. It's like she's possessed by a demonic entity that wants to poke my eyes out and burn my house down." I explained Dakota put his hands in mine. "I don't care about Emma like how I care about you. And I'd never let her poke your eyes out. Oh my goodness, you're so random sometimes." I couldn't help but smile. I was sitting up now, snuggling against Dakota's shoulder. Our lips were inches away from each other. We were slowly leaning in more and more until I hear Taylor's voice say, "Oh hey guys. Um, sorry for interrupting because I see you two were about to...you know...kiss and stuff, but it's time to remove Elijah's body from the bathtub." Dakota made a face and said, "Dude. You couldn't wait for like, 5 more seconds?" Taylor smiled and shook his head no. "I mean, yeah I could have but then you two would be kissing and it would make me feel uncomfortable."
  10. I laughed, kissed Dakota on the nose, and gave Taylor a squeeze. He was so cute sometimes. Well, more like all the time. And my how time flies. "Ok, on the count of three. 1,2,-Jerimiah!" Bentley exclaimed. "What? I accidentally lifted on 2!" "Yeah, but you didn't have to drop him like that." "It's not like he can feel it. He's dead." I heard Jerimiah mumble under his breath. "Alright. 1,2,3!" Bentley counted. We all lifted up and then placed Elijah's body on a top of a towel that was on the bathroom floor. Valentine drained the lemon juice, and we all gathered up around the t.v. to seek out further directions from Director Jenkins. It was about 1 minute until Director Jenkins showed up on the screen. "Very good, very good. Well, the next step is rather easy. You see, death doesn't like to be cheated. So in return for Elijah's life, one of you must take your own. And I think I know who's going to do that. As for you, ______, the agency has decided to spare you from your punishment. I talked them out of it. I thought enough people has died." With that, the t.v. flipped off. I turned to Bentley. He had the same sword that was in Elijah in his hands, the tip of the blade pointed at his stomach. "Bentley, no!" Valentine screamed, tears now filling her eyes. Bentley had sadness in his expression, but he didn't cry. "I love you guys. All of you. Thank you for everything. Valentine, remember when I told you I'd do anything to do anything in my power to save Elijah? This is it. This is the moment. Why? Because I love you and I just want to see you happy; even if you're not happy with me." Then he dug the blade into himself and fell to the ground. And then after that, I heard a noise coming from the bathroom. And soon, he appeared into the room looking good as new; and as Bentley promised Valentine, they ran into each other's arms while he smothered her in kisses.
