"Mommy? Can I go with you to the other kingdoms someday?" Amelia asked sadly. She always dreamed of traveling more.
"I'm sorry honey, but traveling can be very dangerous. There are thieves and kidnappers all along the trail." The Princess explained. -
Grace stood on her tiptoes, peering out of the castle window. The sky was a bright blue; the grass a vibrant green sprinkled with wild flowers. It rippled in the light breeze, the warm air wafting against her small face. She felt a large calloused hand rest upon her shoulder.
"Hello, Pa," she smiled and turned to face him.
"Hello, Gracie. Would you like to go for a stroll? It's awfully gorgeous outside." Grace nodded eagerly, taking his hand and leading him towards the large door that led to the surrounding plot of land. -
Hoenheim sat in his study, head on an open book. He was fast asleep when Haine and Jolie showed up.
"Brother's tired alot.."Haine said.
"Yes he is."Jolie replied, sighing. They put a blanket over his shoulders then left. -
"It's better you stay here." She tried to calm the whining Duchess. "You'll have plenty of fun in the gardens and castle."
"But with you and grandpa gone, there will be no one to play with." She cried.
"Of course there will, Amelia. The servants and caretakers will be happy to play with you." She kissed her daughter's forehead softly. "I must go now, be happy for mommy's sake." "NO! Don't leave!" The girl clung to the mother's leg, but was taken away by a couple servants. "Goodbye, dear." -
They set off, the grass tickling Grace's legs and feet. She looked up at the horizon beyond the beautiful oak trees. "Daddy? When can I go see other kingdoms?"
The king stopped short, taken by surprise. "You know very well that the other kingdoms are not safe," he replied gruffly. Grace wouldn't take that as an answer.
"But Daddy," she whined, "I have no friends here! All you let me do is sit around and stay on our land! Why can't I explore like the other people? When we go in to town I always hear people talking about the other kingdoms! It's not fair!" -
"We're going out to town."Jolie said, smiling at Haine. He looked at her for a second, then smiled "Alright."
So the two left the castle, without telling Hoenheim. And you never not tell Hoenheim.xD
They rode in a carraige drawn by two clydesdale horses.
Haine spent the whole time talking to Jolie about all the different kinds of things he'd heard in town. A girl who wasn't affected by fire, a witch, and warlock with a werecat.
She enjoyed it, laughing alot. -
I gtg. D: Please continue, I'll jump in when I'm back.
-
Aww Ana.
-
D: D'aw, okie Ana.
Her father sighed. "Fine then, if it's that important to you. I suppose we can make a point of going when you're older."
Grace pouted. "But Pa! I'm ten and three quarters! I'm practically fully grown! Please, Pa, please..." -
The two then proceeded to go from shop to shop, looking at the interesting things.
Jolie smiled. If the King and Queen had still been alive, Haine would never have gotten to go out and do this.
But then again...if Hoenheim wasn't busy all the time...
She shook that out of her head and followed Haine into a magic shop. -
"No. That's final. Go along, then. If you're so eager to get about you can run some daily errands, hmm?"
Grace groaned but accepted her father's list of needed items and tasks. "Alright, Pa." She stole one last glance at him before walking in towards town. The first item on the list was to visit the Tree Shoppe to make an appointment to have the shrubs done up nicely. Grace looked from left to right, no sign indicating the destination in sight.
"Oh, gee... Seems like I'll have to go looking elsewhere..." A mischievous light glowed inside of her as she quickly slipped away from the common streets. -
They left and Haine then pointed toward a candy shop.
"Your brother will kill me if I bring you back hyed up on sugar."She laughed, following him. -
As soon as she was out of the commoners' sight, she ran as fast as her legs would carry her. The woods wouldn't be too far; she'd surely be in the next kingdom over in a matter of ten or fifteen minutes.
-
With a bag full of candy and chocolate in his stomach, Haine followed Jolie out.
"I have to go shopping in the marketplace now."She explained "So let's go there now."
"Alright"He shrugged, eating another piece of chocolate. -
D: I gotta go for dinner. I'll be back in a bit.
