It's about alchemy. Alchemy is breaking something down and reconstructing it into something with equal value. But since alchemy is a science it must follow the natural laws. (Al and I tried to bring our mother back from the dead.) There was a rebound. Al lost his body I lost my leg. In order to get Al back I traded my arm for his soul and bound his soul to a suit of armor.
