She just stared, in shock. "A lab rat? No... I can't! I'm really too weak for this... so all you would be doing is killing me!" She sobbed softly. -
It's alright, happens to the best of us
"We shall see, those who think of themself one way often end up the exact opposite. More then once the strongest and the smartest havn't made it past quarantine." she said, "The odds are in your favor." -
"Well, what would I be used for, after the training?" She seemed a bit more curious but still quite resistant.

"That I do not know for sure, nor anyone else for that matter. My guess is for some sort of war." She crossed her legs, looking towards the door. "Might as well make yourself comfortable, chances are we'll be waiting here for quite a while."

"...Okay." She said blankly. This was all so strange and unreal to her. She wondered if it would just be a dream and she'd wake up soon, though something told her it definitely wasn't.

They sat there in silence for while, listening to the soft ticking of a nearby clock. It seemed to take forever, but finally a man in all white stepped into the room. His face held no expression, and when he talked his voice resembled that of a robot. "We are ready for our newest experiment."

Helena looked up, slightly nodding. She brought herself back onto her jelly legs, and walked along to follow this strange scientist.

Aileen stayed sitting down as the man led her out and down the hallway. She whispered a wish of luck, even though she knew the young girl couldn't hear her.
At the end of the hallway there was a door totally unlike the others. It was made of some sort of metal, and there was a heavy duty latch. The man undid the latch, and led Helena into the room beyond. -
Helena followed very quietly, taking in the new sights. It seemed very cold and prison like, though she continued in fear of causing things to become worse.

The room beyond was like any evil scientist's lab seen on television. Cold tables with straps for strapping people in, strange things in jars, and thickish liquids in test tubes. The man walked to the far end of the room where a cold table and a group of scientists stood waiting.

"What are you going to do?" She asked, trying not to let her voice shake. She was scared, but she forced herself to keep calm and appear brave.

"We will examine your brain first, if it proves useful we will begin the operation. If not, we will move on to the rest of your body." one said, "You will be asleep for the whole of the operation, so you do not have to worry about pain." another added.

"Okay..." She felt a bit more confident. It didn't sound too bad, so she followed their directions.
