"You're safe here," Zane reassured him. "What are the chances that he'll check here, of all places? There's billions of people on this planet. He'll have no clue where to look." He wasn't sure if he was reassuring Ryou so much as himself. He'd have no defense if some higher being were to show up.

"That's true...But he'll take over every town and city until he finds me. So we can't stay here for long." He stood and went to a window, checking the sky. "You'll know when he's coming when you see deep red and black clouds. After the closes appear, he's likely to show up within twenty four to thirty hours. When we see them, we get moving before the creatures march in."

Zane nodded, processing what the neko had just told him. "Okay. So should I have a bag packed just in case?" This was all so peculiar to him... Red and black clouds? Just a hunt for one harmless little creature blew his mind.

"If you find it necessary, then yes. But if you ever encounter the Overlord, do not let his small, kitten-like appearance trick you. He'll tear you apart if you let him..." He continued to watch the sky, ears pricked for any sudden noise. Of course, when a truck came by, he instantly went to the floor, hands over his head and mewling in fear.

Zane reached out a gentle hand and touched Ryou's shoulder. "It's just a truck, don't worry." He tried to envision the Overlord. A small, kitten-like appearance? Hm. I never knew kittens could be so malicious.

"What's a truck?" Automobiles didn't exist in the neko's world.

"Here, on Earth, we have these things called automobiles. They're like carriages, only they run on fuel and propel themselves forward. We use them to get from place to place and to transport goods." He paused, hoping he had laid a good enough foundation. "Trucks are automobiles with a big container in the back that can hold lots of different things from large items to thousands of small merchandise."

"We have carriages. Or we walk because we're so fast. How fast are humans?" He smiled, interested to learn more about this 'Earth'.

"I don't know... Relative to what? We'd probably seem like turtles compared to you." He let out a small laugh.

"I see. What else does Earth have?" His tail twitches slightly.

"A lot of things. Airplanes, which fly in the sky... They help us get to far away places in just a few hours. We have bicycles, human powered transportation. Computers, schools, parks, stores. Swimming pools for when the summers get too hot, tons and tons of food... Come to think of it, we have more than enough to get by."

"What's a swimming pool and parks?" He tilted his head. "We have learning centers and grassy ares where the kittens play."

"A park is like those grassy areas. They're where kids play and people can walk and hang out. Swimming pools are kind of like outdoor bath tubs. In the summer, we swim in them to keep cool."

"Water?" He cringed at the thought of a giant tub. "You purposely go in water? I hate bathing in itself let alone going in it voluntarily..."

"Sure. It's quite nice, actually." Zane smiled, remembering being a kid and always looking forward to his bath for the sole purpose of splashing in the water.
