He kissed him back tenderly, letting one of his hands dive into Alden's hair. He missed everything that had to do with being with him; talking, holding, kissing, touching that soft hair, just plain being together.
He broke away lightly and smiled, looking back into those soft brown eyes he loved. Not a word needed to be uttered, since everything that could be said radiated around them. -
Alden's heart thudded loudly in his chest. This was miraculous, so much that if it was a dream, he vowed to never wake up. But it wasn't a dream. Charlie was here, with him, holding him, kissing him...
His heart sang. They were together; Alden and Charlie, Charlie and Alden, and ultimately inseparable. He recalled all of those sad, lonely nights he had lived through for the past couple of months. Now he would be able to spend each and every one of them with the man he loved... With Charlie. Things couldn't have been any better. -
Charlie planted soft kisses over Alden's face, his cheeks, forehead, lips. Then his gaze drifted to the wounded arm. "Aldie... they hurt my Aldie..." He thought bitterly.
"Hi!" Lisa ran up to the two happily. "I'm Lisa, are you Charlie's friend's?" Charlie smiled, nodding to the girl. "Yes Lisa, this is my very close and wonderful friend Alden." -
Allen smiled down at the little girl. She was so innocent and sweet. "Hello there, Lisa." His face turned a light shade of pink at Charlie's acknowledgment towards him.
"Looks like you've found yourself a keeper, young lady," Alden reached out and gently patted her shoulder. "Charlie's a remarkable individual." That was an understatement. -
She smiled, nodding sweetly. "Mommy and Daddy had to go away, so he's been taking care of me." She looked up curiously. "Does this mean you and him can be my new Mommy and Daddy?"
Charlie blushed, imagining having a family with his Aldie. It actually sounded quite nice, though he was curious to what the other would have to say about this. -
Alden grinned, glancing over at Charlie. A family... That would be perfect. "Of course, sweetie," he replied in a soft voice.
He hoped Charlie would also like the idea of starting a family. It was a dream come true... For Alden. He hoped Charles felt the same way. -
"Yes, it would be splendid." Charlie smiled, pulling her up in his arms. She giggled, and with Charlie's free hand he took his English lover's hand in his. "Shall we go back to our new home?" He grinned.
He was more than happy that the other wanted a family as well. Within all the madness and destruction around them, they could be a light of hope. Nothing could be more special and lovely. -
Alden smiled and gave Charlie's hand a gentle squeeze. "Ah, yes. You've yet to show me around here," he chuckled. His brown eyes sparkled with contentment. He knew things were looking up, so far up that the future was probably blinded by the sun. Together they walked towards the base, the three of them. A family. Alden knew this was how it was always meant to be.

Charlie showed him around everywhere, considering the base was pretty small. Soon after the grand tour he went back toward the tent to show him the living quarters.
"Not much but it's works." He chuckled. "Now it will be a much warmer, happier place. -
c': Making me cry tears of joy.
Alden took in the living quarters, letting out a small whistle. "This is like heaven compared to what he had over in England." He shifted his gaze to Charlie. "Though heaven's anywhere you are really," his voice was just a whisper, filled with love and compassion.
His injured arm ached, but he had become accustomed to the looming sense of pain. Now it felt like nothing, numbed by the joyous nature of the day and the bliss within him. -
