*huggles* ^^ We wanted to.
As soon as they were in the air, Alden stared out of the window, watching the approaching clouds. He couldn't help but be excited, for he was headed to America. Wouldn't it be great to surprise Charlie? He stopped at the thought, wondering if that would be appropriate in a time of war. He resolved that he'd call him from the airport in America or use a radio that was there... Unless...
"Um, do you have a working radio on here?" Alden asked over the loud engine.
The pilot pushed a series of buttons and steered the plane a bit. "'Fraid so," he let out a snort. He nodded his head towards the speakers on the dashboard. "Press the red button. It'll go to a major base, then specify whereabouts you're lookin' to speak to." -
:'D
In line up, Charlie stood in good posture, watching as others were being checked first. His mind drifted back to Alden, how much he prayed and hoped he was getting the care he needed. He was only with six or seven others, right? What if they...
He mentally shook his head, not allowing his thoughts to go to his deepest fears. Alden had to be alright. He would see to that, and after the war he would never let anything separate them again.
He was at least very relieved that America and England were both allied and not fighting each other. If they weren't, that would have torn Charlie's heart out. He could never fight against his love, or his love's country. -
We wouldn't want you to miss out on all the fun :O
It was a long, boring flight. Out of the twenty-seven people aboard there was only two girls, much to the men's amusement. Camilla ignored them, instead keeping her thoughts on what she was doing. I must be out of my mind, jumping into battle without proper training. At least I know how to use a gun..... -
"Thank you," he mouthed to the pilot, though the man was already focused back on flying the small jet. Doing as he was told, Alden pressed the square red button, listening to a series of beeps before he was asked to tell the specific base he was looking to transmit to. Once specifying Charlie's base, the computer sent the signal through. Alden heard the faint buzzing in the background through his headset. He bit his lip, hoping somebody could notice the radio beeping at the base.
He knew the others at Charlie's base would find his numerous calls annoying, but he needed to tell Charlie that he was coming. It didn't seem right to tread on the same soil that his love was currently upon and not let him know.
"Signal's not too great from up 'ere," the pilot said without turning from the control panel. "But it'll go through 'ventually." -
Yayz for fun! ^^
A woman picked up for the phone call, working in the office area. "Call for Charlie, I'll send for him." Her voice was rather emotionless, but she paged for the soldier to come forward for the call.
Call? He followed quickly, slightly worried something was wrong. Was it Alden? Or someone calling in place for Alden?
"Hello, Aldie?" He brought the phone to his face, listening and hearing the sounds of what must have been a plane. -
Alden smiled when he heard Charlie's voice. "Hi, love," he said gently. "I have some news. I think you'll like it."
The fire of hope raged inside of him, making his eyes light up with love and happiness. He shut his eyes for a moment, imagining the moment that he'd see Charlie once more. That moment was closer than he'd ever thought it could be. -
As time went on, she began to grow tired of the men's taunts. It took all her will power to keep from tossing them out and watching them fall. They, too, eventually began to tire. As they all fell silent, Camilla couldn't help but be lulled to sleep by the steady hum of the emgines. She nodded off to sleep, and stayed asleep for quite some time.

Charlie instantly calmed and cheered up at the sound of his boyfriend's voice. "Really? I'd love to hear good news right now, especially from you. What is it, love?"
So Alden must be in a plane, and being flown to get medical care, he guessed. He was oblivious that there was also a possibility that he'd be coming to America, though. -
His smile had turned into a full out beam. "I'm on my way to America." His milky brown eyes glowed with vivacity. He looked out at the ocean below him. It gleamed and glimmered in the sunlight, winking up at him.
The pilot's heart was warmed by the conversation. He'd forgotten to mention to the younger that he could hear all radio conversations through his headset as well. One radio per jet, therefore both passengers can hear. It was nice to find such hope and love in this hell of a world. -

Half an hour to landing time, she was awoke to the sound of anxious whispering. She listened to no conversation in particular, just letting the murmering of those around her calm her mind.
-
For a second the words didn't register with him, too good to be true, but he suddenly said a happy, "Really?!"
Nothing could be better than what was about to happen. His Alden would be arriving back to him, for real. "Oh Alden, this is wonderful news! How long do you think it'll be until you get here? Sorry, I'm just so excited!" He giggled, wiping away tears. -
"It'll be a few more hours," Alden replied, his fingers drumming on the window. "I wish this bloody jet could fly faster," he chuckled. No words could describe how joyful he was. Tears pricked at his eyes, but he let them slide freely. Alden didn't bother to wipe them away. "It's been so long... I'll finally get to see you."
The pilot couldn't help but smile. "So sweet," he mused, forgetting that he'd had his headset on still. -
"I know, I've really missed you." He thought he heard something else but just shrugged it off. "I've missed holding you close... it's felt like a part of me was gone this whole time."
The woman gave him a look that he should be heading back to the company, but it was so hard for him to tear himself away. -
It was then she fuly realized what she was doing. She was going to war. Not the kind of war you learn about in grade school, but war. The war that would determine the fate of the world, people wouldn't go easy on you just because you don't know your stuff. No, just the opposite. They'd go for you first, shoot to kill. Take out the easy stuff and move on to the more difficult soldiers.
She took a deep breath, closed her eyes, and focused on what life would be like after the war. Everything would go back to being peaceful. She, her parents, and her brother would live happily ever after. She'd see to it.
